About this role
Business Unit Overview:
Global Consultant Relations (GCR) is instrumental in driving efforts to secure new business. The team is divided into two main components: the Request for Proposal (RFP) Team and the consultant coverage team. Covering the APAC ex-Japan institutional client base, the APAC ex-Japan GCR RFP Team collaborates closely with colleagues across the firm including sales teams, product strategy, and various other business functions to provide high-quality, consistent, and cohesive quantitative and qualitative information to prospects and consultants.
Job Purpose /Background:
The Senior RFP Writer role involves completing RFPs for institutional APAC ex-Japan clients and participating in various other aspects of the role, such as RFP Q&A database content creation and maintenance, technology, and other ad hoc or longer-term team projects. The RFP function within GCR is uniquely positioned within BlackRock, working closely with both product strategy and institutional client business teams. The team offers an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to these areas of the business and acquire extensive knowledge about BlackRock, its market position, and the products it manages. The Senior RFP Writer will play a vital role in this critical component of winning new business.
Key Responsibilities:
This RFP role entails crafting detailed proposals for major institutional clients across a diverse range of BlackRock's products, spanning public and private markets, active and index strategies, and all asset classes. It requires a deep understanding of BlackRock's offerings, strategies, structure, and unique selling points to effectively convey these in RFPs and other new business-related documents to secure assets.
Responsibilities include:
Ensuring the quality and timeliness of RFPs in collaboration with key stakeholders throughout the completion process on a diverse range of products, including alternatives, equity, fixed income, and multi-asset investments and custom solutions
Involvement in training and developing junior RFP writers in the region, while liaising with global peers to maintain consistent global practices
Partnering with product strategy teams to gain a comprehensive understanding on how they invest money on behalf of clients
Contributing to the population and development of the RFP Q&A databasecontent by refreshing and improving answers on an ongoing basis, and playing a key role in its continuous improvement

Skills/Experience:
The ideal candidate will be a degree qualified individual with 4+ years of financial services experience preferably in a RFP function for an asset management company
A professional, motivated individual that demonstrates drive and enthusiasm
Willing to learn, work with feedback, innovate, adapt, and improve
Team player and an enthusiastic “can do” attitude in a fast-paced environment
Good organizational skills, ability to manage own priorities, and meet hard deadlines
Attention to detail and high quality of written and numerical content is essential
Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English a must; Korean or Mandarin Chinese is an advantage
Strong investment product and market knowledge
High proficiency in the suite of Microsoft office tools
