About this role

Team Overview:

The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team plays a critical role as trusted partner to businesses across BlackRock, supporting all analysis, reporting, and business planning needs. We produce multi-year plans and forecasts; create and analyze business metrics and identify cost savings opportunities; and deliver economic insight into the relationships between costs and revenues to improve the financial success of the business going forward. We are a valued and critical part of the management function, working at all levels of BlackRock to provide both a broad and deep understanding of the firm’s financial position and opportunities.

Role Description:

BlackRock is seeking an Analyst/ Associate to join the APAC Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Team, based in Hong Kong. The FP&A team partners closely with the Regional Executives, COO and Client Business leadership as well as with teams across the firm’s strategic priorities to lead strategic planning, business analysis, forecasting and budgeting, advise decision-making, and communicate optimally with key stakeholders, including global teams across Finance.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Business Partnering & Strategic Planning: day-to-day support of our main partners across the APAC platform on all financial and commercial matters

  • Long-term Planning: support decision-making and closely supervise business performance in collaboration with our Central FP&A, APAC Sales and Investment teams

  • Performance Analysis: production of detailed analysis and presentations for senior management highlighting key drivers and insights

  • Reporting & Analytics: proactively seek opportunities to improve our reporting suite and develop tools to assess business performance. Build cohesive narratives in communicating results to stakeholders and present data in a simple and clear manner

  • Projects/Ad-hoc Requests: lead projects independently and partner with the business management functions on ad hoc requests and initiatives

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science or a related field; MBA or CPA a plus

  • 3-5 years of experience in the financial services or technology sector, preferably at a world-class asset manager, consulting firm or innovative technology organization with FP&A experience preferred

  • Strong understanding of financial statements (P&L, Cash Flow, and Balance Sheet)

  • Proficiency in Excel with advanced financial modeling skills; experience with IBM Cognos TM1 and visualization tools an advantage (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau) and coding skills a plus (e.g. SQL, Python)

  • Ability to collaborate optimally with team members, managers, and other business partners

  • Attention to detail and dedication to producing accurate results

  • Willingness to work in a multifaceted and fast-paced global environment

  • Proactive and positive attitude with a strong willingness to learn and grow within the Finance & Strategy function
