About Aladdin Data (AD)

Data is essential to Aladdin, and the ability to acquire, store, analyze, and gain insights from data is crucial. The Aladdin Data (AD) team is responsible for the data ecosystem within BlackRock. Develop a brand-new Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) for users including investors and analysts.

  • EDP supports four outcomes that, together, enable BlackRock’s data strategy:

  • Provide high quality, reliable data and services to power the core investment processes for Aladdin clients

  • Enable Aladdin clients to reduce operational overhead and improve client service by offering both Aladdin data and BlackRock-generated premium content through a commercial data platform, Aladdin Data Cloud (ADC)

  • Acquire, process, and deliver well-governed data for internal AI agents and the teams building and using AI

  • Provide a general-purpose Data Platform-as-a-Service (DPaaS) to enable teams across BlackRock to focus on extracting value form their data

About this role

Coordinate the entire internal BlackRock EDP client onboarding process, covering data gathering, intake, processing, governance, and operations. Your responsibilities include defining workflows, tools, documentation and support for onboarding, resolving platform bottlenecks, and developing KPIs to measure platform value. This will include establishing relationships with the internal BLK clients and managing throughout the end-to-end onboarding and adoption.

Responsibilities and requirements include

  • Deep expertise in the investment management domain and various data products like ESG, Post Trade KPI, Analytics, Risk analytics and models etc

  • Expertise in the data management space – data acquisition, ingestion, transformation, distribution, consumption and data governance

  • Manage large, complex, multi-year projects/programs to an acceptable level of risk by balancing scope, time, cost and quality

  • Coordinate the development of product definition and roadmaps in partnership w the product management team

  • Structure and manage integrated projects and programs to achieve expected business results

  • Manage the product increment lifecycle and associated ceremonies

  • Manage relationships with senior leadership team and communicate status and issues regularly

  • Clarify and communicate project objectives and success criteria

  • Manage interactions with eFront and Aladdin Data engineering and product teams

  • Mobilize and lead a team to complete project plans

  • Lead business and technical design phases

  • Lead teams with multiple discipline representation (especially technology, user experience, and product)

  • Familiarity with Agile and Iterative Development

This is not your traditional project management role; we are looking for world-class problem solvers who want to learn the details and be heavily involved in designing and implementing scalable solutions. We serve as the link between different business units by applying deep understanding of BlackRock's organization, processes, and technology to implement change.

Your Experience

  • 10+ years of work experience

  • Ability to clearly articulate objectives and influence outcomes

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience in business process analysis, design, and implementation

  • Experience in the alternative investment domain

  • Ambitious and proactive – able to show initiative and come up with ideas without prompting

  • Proficient in technical skills, adept at applying technology in a business setting

  • Experience working with global, distributed teams across multiple cultures and time zones

  • Sense of curiosity and the courage to ask tough questions

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or Engineering preferred

  • Ability to drive the adoption of Scaled Agile practices across global teams. Should be proficient and certified in agile at scale methodologies such as SaFE, LeSS, Nexus etc.
