Enterprise Risk Technology & Transformation Team
The Technology & Transformation team is a growing part of RQA Enterprise Risk (ERM) that designs, implements, and optimizes technology solutions used by thousands of users across BlackRock. The team partners with ERM management to build and support risk management tools. It collaborates closely with technologists in the Aladdin Product Group and Technology and Operations divisions and works with business stakeholders and external partners outside of RQA to deliver scalable, innovative solutions that advance risk management objectives and drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a Senior Analyst/Associate that will be part of an innovative team leading the development of Archer for the Model Risk Solution. This individual will be responsible for understanding business requirements, translating them into system configuration changes, and managing upstream and downstream dependencies. This role requires close collaboration with other system developers and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration across ERM platforms. Candidates will:
Own requirements and documentation of the Model Risk solution within Archer
Analyze, document, and translate business requirements into actionable configuration changes, ensuring alignment with broader ERM objectives
Demonstrate a deep understanding of current solutions and back-end architecture by executing configuration changes and enhancements within Archer
Assess and manage upstream and downstream dependencies, collaborating with other system developers to consider impacts across platforms
Engage with business stakeholders, including teams within ERM and external partners, to clarify requirements and communicate feasibility, challenging business change requests when necessary
Manage strict timelines for development and bug fixes, ensuring communication with stakeholders is clear and timely
Support and complete various efficiency and capacity-building initiatives, including automation and standardization efforts
Consistently challenge the status quo to drive operational excellence by constantly analyzing systems, processes, and procedures for inefficiencies, and providing recommendations for improvement
Stay current on industry trends and new technology solutions relevant to GRC, Model Risk, and AI
Qualifications
3–5 years of hands-on experience with Archer or a similar GRC tool, including system configuration and back-end solution management
Proven ability to understand and modify existing system configurations
Efficient and effective information gathering and translating business requirements for technology solutions
Familiarity and experience participating in the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Comfortable challenging business requests and advocating for feasible, strategic solutions
Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple requirements and stakeholders simultaneously
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to ask the right questions and understand new business processes
Proactive attitude towards new technology combined with an ability to quickly assess the scale and budget of new projects
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively as part of a global team in a fast-paced environment
Flexible work schedule and comfort working hours outside local time zones to overlap with global leads in London and New York
A plus, but not required:
Experience working with Crowe and/or Model Risk solutions
Experience with project management and tracking tools such as JIRA, Miro, and Aha
Experience programming in languages such as Python or VBA
