About this role
Overview of Responsibilities
The Vice President, APAC Financial and Prudential Reporting Hub lead and India controller will lead a multi-jurisdictional reporting hub responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of financial reporting of the legal entities in the region. Additionally, the role will also provide oversight of end-to-end reporting processes, governance, and audit engagement of the India entities, ensuring compliance to IFRS/US GAAP, local regulatory requirements and internal control standards.
The successful candidate will exhibit strong leadership skills, demonstrate deep expertise in accounting and financial reporting processes, and have a proven track record of driving team performance. This role requires the ability to foster a high-performing culture, ensure operational excellence, and deliver measurable business outcomes aligned with organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and develop a high-performing financial and prudential reporting team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Oversee preparation, review, and submission of statutory/regulatory financial statements and surveys in compliance with IFRS/US GAAP and local GAAPs.
Own the monthly/quarterly close process within the hub’s scope; ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery of results and disclosures.
Maintain a robust internal control environment aligned to SOX and corporate policies; monitor key controls, remediate deficiencies, and reduce operational risk.
Drive standardization, documentation, and automation of reporting processes, particularly partnering with Technology teams to enhance data quality, efficiency improvement and control enhancements.
Serve as the central point of contact between the FPR hub and regional controllers, corporate accounting, external reporting, tax, treasury, accounting policy and finance operation teams, and act as primary liaison for internal and external audits for India entities.
Drive/participate in finance transformation, migration, and integration projects and champion risk-based prioritization to deliver sustainable outcomes.
Required Education, Training and Licenses:
Chartered Accountant with experience in global asset management firms preferred
10+ years of experience in financial services industry
Required experience & skills:
Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS and IND AS
Ability to understand the need of stakeholders and collaborate effectively across all levels.
Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills including active listening and the ability to articulate complex issues to a variety of audiences.
Proven experience in process optimization and automation; familiar with Oracle ERP/General ledger, consolidation and reporting tools preferred.
Tackle fast-paced, challenging environment while maintaining the emphasis on quality.
People management experience and ability to build high performing teams and deliver through others.
