About this role
Business Unit Overview:
The Performance Measurement & Attribution team is responsible for the outcome and interpretation of portfolio & benchmark return analytics in Blackrock, critical to insights that enable investment and risk teams to make informed decisions. This includes generating and interpreting analytical outcomes, leading product & strategy level support, acting as a centralized source and applying analytical tools and automated solutions that standardize calculators & methodologies, reduce time-to-market and bring consistency across our analytics.
The demand for accurate, timely & informational performance data is central to many of the organizational core objectives, and are core to the analytical and global client service culture of the team. Products covered by the team are the spectrum of Mutual Funds, ETF’s, segregated clients and investment asset classes including Fixed Income, Multi-Asset, Equity and Alternatives.

As a member of PMA, take part in the story and take ownership as a performance expert. We are responsible for investment performance and attribution analysis globally across Fixed Income, Equity and Multi-Asset strategies. You get to work with multiple business divisions, including the iShares Equity Product suite, Institutional Equity, Beta Strategies, and Fixed Income products. The team focuses on using technology and project management to improve existing processes to optimize content delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Will be a source of investment performance and system knowledge, and collaborate with external parties such as fund administrators, custodians, and various index vendors.
Responsible for ensuring timely delivery of all the reports & analytics supported by the team and ensuring consistent quality of content delivered.
Research residuals using the Aladdin platform and suggest resolutions.
Gain full understanding of internal analytical systems (Aladdin), and use them to investigate internal and external client inquiries and support our growing business needs.
Display integrity and confidence when dealing with different teams - be open to taking ownership and try to understand the data flows and dependencies.
Participate and lead different tech initiatives for efficiency and re-engineering.
Knowledge/Experience:
Demonstrate conceptual and practical understanding of performance and attribution concepts.
Have 1-3 years of experience in Performance and Attribution function within Asset management industry.
Show keen interest in learning about Multi-Asset, Fixed Income and Equity instruments, and general performance principles.
Expected to learn new technologies such as BI tools/Python, and eager to delving into Aladdin performance and attribution.
Skills/Qualifications:
Graduated with a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent; prior experience with business modeling techniques and/or attribution tools (CFA or CIPM designation a plus).
Show strong problem-solving competence, an ability to synthesize information, summarize issues, and take initiative.
Display knowledge of accounting and pricing principles; experience with performance tools and external fund administrators a plus; exposure to Perl, Python or Power BI a plus.
