About this role
BlackRock is looking for someone with experience in Fund Accounting and people management. This role is well-suited for individuals with experience in Fund/Investment accounting, Accountancy, and Provider Management. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to collaborate with our business, providers, and personnel at all levels within BlackRock. The function has a core team in Edinburgh providing oversight within EMEA of the daily pricing activities. The firm currently has in excess of $2tn AUM coordinated across major administrators in EMEA region! The primary function of the team includes:
- Oversight of fund administrators pricing and control activity ensuring all funds are priced within the required SLA and to the required accuracy standards.
- Monitoring of reconciliations and controls produced by the third party fund administrators
We are looking for a pro-active individual who can demonstrate initiative with an aim to succeed both as an individual and as a strong teammate! The successful individual should demonstrate a dedication to technical capability, flexibility and the ability to balance multiple activities. As a good communicator they will use their influencing skills to develop strong collaborative relationships with key internal and external partners.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage and be accountable for a specific range of EMEA Funds.
- Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals to successfully implement objectives and meet agreed targets.
- Resolve tolerance/data exceptions identified from third-party fund administrator’s data.
- Collaborate with third-party administrators and other BlackRock departments to ensure timely resolution of reconciliation breaks.
- Contribute to the preparation of comprehensive reports for fund boards and management committees.
- Ensure all tasks and activities align with regulatory requirements, and promptly report any exceptions or breaches to line management.
- Develop and share expertise in fund accounting requirements for specific fund ranges and types.
- Proactively build and maintain relationships with Service Providers and internal BlackRock teams to ensure seamless service delivery and resolution of queries or issues.
- Manage the production of key performance indicator data and management information for regular reports to management.
- Stay informed about product, business, and regulatory changes, and actively participate in related initiatives and projects.

- Outstanding people management and time-critical process coordination skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams and external partners.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and a dedication to achieving success both individually and as a team leader.
- Experience in developing collaborative working relationships with key internal and external collaborators.
