Team Overview

The Accounting Services and Oversight (ASO) – Institutional team produce NAV and Performance for institutional separate accounts on a daily and monthly basis using Aladdin Accounting. This includes analysis/comparison with third parties such as custodian banks and accounting agents.

The team has a view across the entire Aladdin platform and works closely with key internal partners to ensure NAV accuracy. This leads to natural exposure to several teams including but not limited to portfolio managers, performance attribution specialists, trade operations, cash & assets reconciliations, client management and technology teams. We also provide training, support, and subject matter expertise to client implementations of Aladdin’s Performance & Official Accounting.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct portfolio valuations, performance calculation and analysis for Institutional portfolios using Aladdin Accounting platform
  • Work closely with upstream teams such as Cash reconciliation, Trade operations, Data Integrity Groups and Portfolio managers to ensure NAV and Performance accuracy
  • Support Portfolio Management Group (PMG) and Institutional Client Business group (ICB) in resolving portfolio valuation and performance related queries;
  • Work with clients effectively by supporting Client Business in servicing client requirements on a regular basis or on special projects
  • Enhance the client experience by answering NAV or Performance related queries in a timely and accurate manner
  • Work with the product owners on the development of the Aladdin Accounting platform through improving functionality and development testing
  • Coordinate the re-engineering of BlackRock’s operating environment and participate in various automation projects to enhance productivity and controls
  • Assist in conducting and implementing procedures and controls to ensure GIPS, SOX, RCSA and SOR Audit requirements

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in performance measurement, fund accounting and/or operations
  • Proficient in the working knowledge of Equity, Fixed Income, and derivative securities
  • Works well in a team environment with an entrepreneurial spirit that is willing to build on additional responsibilities quickly
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment, with excellent analytical, written and oral communications skills
  • Strong client service skills and a passion for delivering service excellence
  • Highly proactive, willing to take ownership of issues and follow through to resolution
  • Good knowledge of Excel. SQL and VBA experience desirable but not necessary
