Business Unit Overview:

BlackRock Finance consists of finance professionals in disciplines such as Financial Planning & Analysis (“FP&A”), Treasury, Tax, Finance Controls, Sourcing and Vendor Management, Finance Platform Support and Controllers. Accounts Payable, which is included within Controllers, is a global team with presence in Gurgaon, Singapore, Edinburgh, Belgrade, Atlanta and Budapest.  This role is an exciting opportunity to join the P2P Operations team, which spans both Accounts Payable and Sourcing and Vendor Management.

Job Purpose/Background:

The P2P Operations Team is responsible for Leading Transformation Activities, Reporting, Governance and Control, and supplier onboarding, order management and system support activity across both Accounts Payable and Sourcing and Vendor Management,  developing the infrastructure that allows for seamless supplier onboarding and invoice processing, employee compliance and management oversight of the firm’s Global Sourcing policy. 

Reporting to Accounts Payable Vice President, the Associate will be responsible for overseeing timely onboarding of suppliers, responding to audit queries, and working with stakeholders across BlackRock and externally to drive improvements to end to end supplier onboarding and invoice processing understanding, efficiencies and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Driving risk management activities to ensure all processes comply with internal controls, including  ownership of Sox frameworks, risk and control assessments, and training of colleagues across the P2P process. 
  • Using data analysis techniques to identify and drive process improvement and transformation activities
  • Overseeing the maintenance of supplier data quality across our finance systems
  • Partnering with the businesses/stakeholders to improve the understanding and efficiency of end to end processes
  • Lead testing and other ad hoc projects, including technology and process enhancements
  • Partnering with the Sourcing Leads, Supplier Maintenance team, and Customer Service teams to respond to queries and enhance controls/processes

  • This is a globally focused role in a team which is core to the entire Finance Operations. The role interacts with both Finance and non-Finance teams around the globe providing opportunity to understand business needs while developing key relationships
  • This role will provide the candidate with the scope to effect positive change to the control environment by harnessing system capabilities and constantly evaluating processes & procedures to create value for the firm.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • 5 years’ experience in Accounts Payable or Procurement functions, or equivalent
  • Experience of data analysis techniques and tools
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Process improvement / project management experience
  • Knowledge of risk management / control frameworks
  • Knowledge of Coupa or Oracle Financials is an advantage.
