Investor Servicing & Onboarding (Alternatives Client Services) - Vice President
Location: Edinburgh, Scotland Team: Client Service Job Requisition #: R266398 Date posted: Sep. 28, 2026
Job description
About this role
Your team
BlackRock Alternative Investors (BAI) brings together capabilities across real estate, infrastructure, credit, private equity, and hedge funds through a shared operating approach. The platform offers broad alternatives expertise and opportunities to collaborate with teams across the firm as the business continues to develop its alternatives-investment capabilities.
The Alternatives Client Services (ACS) team supports BlackRock’s privately placed alternatives products, including hedge funds, funds of hedge funds, private credit, private equity, and real asset funds. The team supports investors throughout the fund lifecycle and is responsible for investor onboarding, report distribution, transfer-agency oversight, investor queries, internal and external reporting, and client-data management.
Your role and impact
As Vice President, you will help shape how ACS manages regulatory reporting, tax-reporting processes, client data, and digital investor onboarding. You will work across business lines and functions, including Legal and Tax, as well as with external transfer agents. Your work will support the future state of client data, strengthen investor-onboarding and tax-documentation processes, and improve Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) review workflows.
This role offers the opportunity to lead cross-functional initiatives, address operational and regulatory challenges, and contribute to the continued development of the alternatives platform.
Your responsibilities
In every role at BlackRock, you'll be expected to apply sound judgement and critical thinking to solve complex problems, adapt as the business evolves, and combine the curiosity to explore new approaches and technologies with the rigor to challenge the results. The scope of this role also includes the following responsibilities:
- Serve as the ACS subject matter expert and key cross-functional partner for global tax and regulatory reporting requirements, including the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD), Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), Common Reporting Standard (CRS), Dodd-Frank reporting, Form PF, Form PQR, Form D, Blue Sky requirements, and relevant country-specific regulations.
- Research, evaluate, and implement new or revised regulatory reporting requirements for products and transactions.
- Assess current client-data platforms and user needs, document improvement opportunities, and develop a future-state roadmap that addresses operational constraints and dependencies.
- Partner with Legal and Tax to develop standardized subscription documentation that supports digital investor onboarding.
- Lead project management, integration testing, and implementation activities for digital investor-onboarding capabilities.
- Collaborate with external transfer agents and internal stakeholders to define efficient investor-onboarding and AML and KYC review workflows.
Your experience
- Significant experience in a dynamic, deadline-oriented operations or client-service role, with expertise in alternative private funds.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives that mitigate risk, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen client service.
- Strong ability to organize, interpret, and analyze investor and portfolio data.
- Demonstrable people management experience
- A proactive, self-directed approach, with the ability to adapt priorities as business needs evolve.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative approach to working across teams and organizational levels.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational discipline, and ownership of accurate, timely work through completion.
- Sound judgment in identifying issues, coordinating solutions, and escalating risks appropriately.
