The EMEA Investment Oversight Group is regionally responsible for impartial oversight, challenge and supervision on behalf of regional boards investment products, new propositions, ongoing product and portfolio management oversight, sustainability, liquidity and price & value assessment. We seek to ensure alignment with BlackRock’s client fiduciary principles and regulatory expectations through ongoing effective oversight meeting with our policies and procedures.
Core Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will implement and improve analytical, reporting and supervisory responsibilities for fund ongoing performance and price & value oversight.
- Regularly preparing and presenting their reviews to the boards and/or committees; coordinating with collaborators in the identification and remediation of any raised matters.
- Participating in day-to-day oversight with respect to our clients’ interests and in line with applicable regulation and guidance.
- Generate, maintain and review investment strategy guideline and performance assessment information across the range of funds to which they assigned, applying those guidelines to their oversight and governance
- Collaborating in the Product Development Lifecycle from initial concept through to launch and ongoing oversight of fund performance and pricing
- Sourcing, validation and analysis of performance data, preparation of presentations and performance reporting for BlackRock governance bodies
- Continually developing knowledge of asset management regulatory frameworks in particular with respect to Performance and Price & Value including, understand their application and impact on fund ranges under the team’s oversight
Experience
Our ideal candidate will
- Possess over 7 year’s experience within an investment/fund manager or leading professional service firm including governance, oversight or regulatory leadership experience
- Have expertise in EU/UK funds supervisory regimes as well practical experience translating and implementing requirements into internal framework and policies.
- Be knowledgeable across a broad variety of investment strategies within a mutual fund format (including active and passive, alternatives, LDI and pensions), instruments, utilisation of derivatives, leverage, hedging and pricing
- Exhibit strong execution, project, partnership and relationship leadership skills including prioritisation and time management skills; ability to handle multiple requirements and deliver effective outcomes efficiently.
- Possess relevant qualifications and experience include those related to risk, investment performance and attribution, investment compliance or financial markets, supported by a practical experience
- Ability to clearly articulate at all levels, including portfolio managers, fund directors, external auditors, senior management and experienced in presenting to boards and regulators
- Possess high competency and productivity in applications such as MS Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, Smartsheet, Python scripting in order to automate and develop robust processes for the acquisition, processing and QA of large data sets.
- Be fluent in professional English language, other European languages an advantage.
