About this role

The Retirement Insurance Market Leader drives sales through Third-Party platforms by partnering with field teams of our third-party insurance partners and State Farm and representing BlackRock Variable Insurance Trust Funds, subadvised portfolios within insurance products, and custom indices. In addition, the Retirement Insurance Market Leader delivers training programs and sales presentations to several audiences, including external and internal wholesalers of third-party platforms and State Farm agents, to enhance our overall relationships and maximize sales. The primary goal is to develop relationships with key centers of influence in the insurance company distribution teams to grow BlackRock Sales in their products jointly. 

Responsibilities 

  • Establish trusted partnerships with insurance company Divisional Sales Managers to gain access to their teams and maximize our sales efforts.

  • Set up meetings with insurance company wholesalers, providing them with valuable intellectual capital, including market insights, investment education, BlackRock investment solutions, and practice management advice.

  • Deliver webinars and large format meeting presentations to insurance company wholesalers and representatives' clients.

  • Represent RI and BlackRock at client and industry events, positioning BlackRock's capabilities and thought leadership to enhance brand awareness in the insurance space. 

  • Collaborate with RI Home Office & Client distribution team to align sales, marketing, and value add efforts with firm-specific account plans. 

  • Invest in internal relationship building across the firm to deliver a One BlackRock experience to clients. 

  • Partner closely with RI leadership to help shape the direction of the business with achievements to measure successful execution. 

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree with a CFA/CFP, and/or MBA, and/or CIMA highly preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in a client-facing role in a financial institution 

  • Thorough understanding of the financial/capital markets; mutual funds, group, individual retirement plan products, and insurance products.

  • Strong understanding of the organization, dynamics of a retail insurance company, and the retirement industry

  • Highly self-structured with the ability to manage a budget, prioritize and create a highly impactful rotation.

  • Strong work ethic, high integrity, and strong values.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong Sales skills; probing, listening, and closing.

  • Exceptional written and verbal skills

  • NASD Series 7, 63, and 66 (or 63 & 65)

  • Ability to travel 65 - 75%



For XCO-Regional - Colorado and XCA-Regional - California Only the salary range for this position is USD$130,000.00 - USD$170,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

For XAZ-Regional - Arizona Only the salary range for this position is USD$0.00 - USD$0.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits.
