Location: Budapest, Budapest Team: Investment Product Strategy Job Requisition #: R251598 Date posted: Apr. 01, 2025
Job description
About this role
Overview
Fundamental Equities is building a tech-enabled platform to support tool-building and workflow innovation across the Product Strategy function. Our goal is to enable a growing community of citizen developers to build smarter, faster, and more consistently while maintaining the guardrails, performance, and reusability that come with scaled solutions.
As a Platform Engineer, you’ll be a key architect and cultural steward, defining shared design principles, elevating development standards, and shaping how we scale. You’ll not only build technology but also help build anecosystem for citizen developers across FE Product Strategy.
What You’ll Do (Phased Roadmap)
Phase 1: Tactical Foundations
- Lead citizen developer community to stabilize, refactor, and document existing solutions.
- Build shared libraries and core connectors to eliminate duplication and improve maintainability.
- Begin establishing platform-wide design principles and reusable scaffolding.
- Lead forums and create workflows to surface promising tools, evaluate their impact, and help scale them across teams.
- Act as a citizen developer, building platform tools tied to our strategic objectives
Phase 2: Platform Enablement
- Develop a configuration-driven framework to help citizen developers build scalable solutions.
- Establish and evolve a prioritization framework to assess ROI and guide investment in platform capabilities.
- Partner laterally with teams in MASS, FFI, and PAG to identify shared challenges, co-develop solutions, and align on best practices.
- Strengthen culture in local offices, possibly including indirect reporting lines, to foster unity and shared ownership.
Over time, you’ll help evolve the platform into a durable, self-sustaining ecosystem equipped with clear standards, shared tooling, and a connected developer community.
Who You Are
- Experienced Software Engineer (6+ years) with a background in platform engineering, internal tooling, or developer experience.
- Comfortable working across Python and front-end stacks (e.g., Streamlit).
- Familiar with data platforms like Snowflake or dbt, and how to build reliable services on top of them.
- Experienced in building or leveraging third-party APIs to connect tools, services, or data sources across systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate) is a plus—not required, but a willingness to grow into it is expected.
- Equally passionate about technical excellence and team enablement—you design with both scale and accessibility in mind.
- Comfortable building the structures that drive high performance coding culture, including documentation, training, and shared standards.
- Skilled collaborator across technical and non-technical stakeholders, with experience navigating matrixed organizations.
