Fundamental Equities sits within BlackRock’s Portfolio Management Group (PMG), which encompasses Fundamental and Systematic investing across Fixed Income, Equities and Multi-Asset Strategies. The Fundamental Equities business is a key division at BlackRock with over $228bn of assets under management, across 70+ strategies and over 240+ investment professionals. The Fundamental Equity teams (FE) use traditional analytics to pick stocks and assemble coherent, deliberate and diversified portfolios. Through cutting edge technology, sophisticated models and embedded research, our investment management approach provides superior performance for our clients and is an important part of the BlackRock brand.
About Product Strategy
Product Strategists are serving as a link between portfolio managers, client relationship managers and various internal partner teams. We use our deep understanding of products and markets to make the investment process more relatable to our clients.
We are expanding our Core Product Strategy team in Budapest, one of our innovation hubs responsible for timely and effective production of marketing materials and fund analytics, also fielding client inquiries. In addition to servicing existing clients, core product strategists have an opportunity to help support campaigns that drive new AUM for the team, defend existing business with clients, and ultimately achieve commercial objectives for Fundamental Equities.
About the Role
We are looking for an innovation lead responsible for driving sales enablement and automation projects utilising coded and AI based solutions. Our new hire will focus on adding scale to the FE Platform by overseeing the FE PS innovation pipeline, leading our global Citizen Developer group and spearheading new tech socialisation efforts.
Role Profile
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead sales enablement projects that incorporate technology or automation
- Support client servicing through workflow automation; Drive initiatives focused on efficiency gains and improving collaboration among PS teams
- Design a data framework that enhances our ability to extract and visualise business intelligence
- Seek ways to grow utilisation of GenAI tools
- Act as a repo guardian and oversee the FE Citizen Developer community; Help juniors to develop their coding skills
- Build familiarity with FE product offering and key fund metrics; Represent the team on internal forums, seek synergies with other functions (PAG, Aladdin etc.)
- Keep abreast of regulatory and other structural trends and ensure that both new and existing products comply with regulatory requirements
You should have:
- 5+ years’ experience in financial services, preferably with focus on equity markets or data analytics
- Excellent communication skills across both verbal and written mediums. Fluency in written and spoken English is essential
- Strong problem solving, data management and manipulation skills with a focus on Python, R and Snowflake
- Experience in data visualisation using Tableau or PowerBI is a plus
- Strong attention to detail, a sense of urgency around deadlines and an ability to multitask
- People management experience is a plus.
- Proactive, problem-solving attitude supported by the ability to effectively combine outputs from different sources of technology/systems
- Keen interest in global financial markets; be up to date on macro events and market trends
- A desire to pursue CFA, FRM and/or CAIA is welcome
