About this role

We’re hiring aDigital Content Strategist / Taxonomistto help shape the future of our global web platforms –ishares.comandblackrock.com. You’ll join a diverse digital team based in Budapest, working at the intersection of content, technology, and user experience.

This role is pivotal in defining, validating, implementing, and maintaining a scalable website content taxonomy that enhances content discovery, improves SEO, and supports dynamic content curation.


Responsibilities

  • Audit existing content structures to identify gaps and inconsistencies.
  • Standardize content grouping, categorization, and taxonomy across global websites (e.g., topics, formats, audiences, regions) and associated metadata.
  • Validate taxonomy effectiveness through feedback from content authors, SEO experts, and site visitors.
  • Implement taxonomy in the CMS by collaborating with engineers to build metadata fields, tagging systems, and reusable components.
  • Develop clear guidelines, playbooks, and documentation for consistent tagging practices; deliver training sessions to ensure adoption.
  • Partner with content publishers to apply tags, monitor usage, and maintain taxonomy quality.
  • Govern the taxonomy system by establishing review and update processes to ensure long-term consistency and scalability.
  • Analyze website analytics to identify opportunities for improving navigation and taxonomy.
  • Collaborate with content strategists to maintain information architecture frameworks (site maps, navigation systems, content hierarchies).
  • Work cross-functionally with product managers, SEO teams, engineers, and design system teams to integrate taxonomy into the content lifecycle.


Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in content strategy, information architecture, taxonomy management, or metadata systems.
  • Proven experience structuring large-scale websites, portals, or applications.
  • Strong understanding of metadata, tagging systems, and CMS platforms (ideally AEM).
  • Experience designing and implementing content taxonomies or metadata frameworks at scale.
  • Knowledge of SEO principles and ability to align taxonomy decisions with SEO best practices.
  • Excellent documentation, guideline creation, and training delivery skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills with engineers, product teams, and content creators.
  • Detail-oriented with analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Fluent English communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain structured systems to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Positive attitude, proactive mindset, and strong organizational skills.
  • Work from office required four days/week.
