Business/Job Overview: Europe and Africa Institutional sits within BlackRock's Global Client Business, partnering with over 2000+ institutional clients across the region including pension funds, insurers, family offices and endowments. We manage assets on behalf of our clients ranging from private markets to ETFs and whole portfolio solutions, with clients entrusting us with over $1T in assets across the region. Within that, the RFP function plays a key role in advancing sales opportunities in its early stages. The role on offer is to complete RFPs for institutional clients, with exposure on a wide range of products across public and private markets. The successful candidate will be working closely with both product, sales and various other internal teams to deliver high quality, consistent and cohesive quantitative and qualitative information to prospects and consultants.

Key Responsibilities: This is an opportunity to work on BlackRock’s proposals selling a wide range of products. The role will entail understanding BlackRock’s products, strategies, structure and unique selling points and being able to communicate these in completing RFPs and other new business related documents to win assets.

  • Work on a wide range of products including alternatives, equity, fixed income, and multi-asset products
  • Take full ownership of the RFP process
  • Forge a partnership with the product teams to develop a full understanding of the team and how they invest money on behalf of clients
  • Contribute to continual population and development of the proposals database, refreshing and improving answers on an ongoing basis, play an important role improving and writing continuously.
  • Embrace technology to support the RFP Writing process, whilst dedicating time to customization and quality of RFPs.
  • Be a student of the market and implement learnings in writing RFPs

Development Value: The successful candidate will be given considerable exposure to a wide range of some of the most relevant products available in the market today. They will also have the opportunity to work with many of our key internal clients including those in our European offices. The breadth of this role gives the successful candidate an opportunity to build a high profile with significant opportunity for progression within the business over the medium term.

Skills/Experience:

  • The ideal candidate will be a degree qualified individual with at least 3-4 yrs of financial services experience ideally within an RFP team for an asset management company
  • A professional, motivated individual that demonstrates drive and enthusiasm. Willing to learn, work with feedback, innovate and improve
  • Team player and an enthusiastic “can do” attitude in a fast paced environment
  • Good organisational skills, ability to manage own priorities and meet hard deadlines
  • Attention to detail and quality is essential
  • Fluency in English, strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Investment knowledge, understanding of market and ESG an advantage.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel / Word skills
