About this role

Business Unit Overview:

BlackRock Finance consists of finance professionals in disciplines such as Financial Planning & Analysis (“FP&A”), Treasury, Tax, Financial Controls, Sourcing and Vendor Management, Finance Platform Support and Controllers. Part of the Controllers group, Accounts Payable is a global team with presence in Gurgaon, Singapore, Edinburgh, Belgrade, Atlanta and Budapest.

Job Purpose/Background:

Reporting to the Accounts Payable Payments Associate, the role involves timely processing, accurate disbursement of payments to vendors and employees while ensuring compliance with BlackRock’s Global Cash Disbursement Policy and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To ensure accurate disbursement of funds – supporting the global payment run processes end to end.
  • Action payment returns daily and ensure that return log is kept up to date.
  • Manage the reconciliation of direct debit payments.
  • Partner with Management and Financial Operation Support / Technology team to reduce manual processes.
  • Handling queries or escalations independently and ensures to fix the root cause to avoid similar occurrences happening in future.
  • Following up on overpayments and refunds to ensure little/no financial loss to the firm.
  • To work with stake holders regarding cash reconciliation issues and close the loop of unknown open cash reconciliation items.
  • Provide support to the supplier maintenance team for setup related queries.
  • Accurate and timely input of multicurrency manual payments onto the various banking portals (HSBC, JP Morgan, Citibank)

  • This is a globally focused role in a team which is core to the entire Finance payment process. The role interacts with both Finance and non-Finance teams around the globe.
  • This role will provide the candidate with the scope to effect positive change to the control environment by harnessing system capabilities and constantly evaluating processes & procedures to create value for the firm.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Previous experience of working in payment team or banking environment would be an advantage but not essential
  • Experience of working in a global corporate environment (dealing with multiple currencies / legal entities) is desirable
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
