About this role

BlackRock takes a dynamic approach to alternative investments, creating investment vehicles designed to capitalize on evolving opportunities across markets. This Product Strategy (“PS”) role is for the Multi-Alternatives ("Multi-Alts") platform within BlackRock's Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions ("MASS"). The Multi-Alts team designs and runs portfolios across a wide range of liquid and illiquid alternative investments, using BlackRock's investment capabilities and technology to deliver best in class solutions for clients. The Product Strategy role spans product strategy, marketing, and client service across Private Market Solutions within Multi-Alts.

The MASS team is the investment group at the heart of BlackRock's portfolio construction, asset allocation, and active management ecosystem. MASS draws on the full toolkit of BlackRock's index, factor, and alpha-seeking investment capabilities to deliver precise investment outcomes and pioneering alpha insights. MASS constructs active asset allocation strategies and whole portfolio solutions across a wide spectrum of commingled funds, separate accounts, model portfolios, and outsourcing solutions in the wealth and institutional channels.

The Multi-Alts team is looking for a motivated individual to join our growing MASS team based in Budapest.

Key Responsibilities

  • Relationship Management and Sales Support: Partner with senior members of the PS team to cultivate relationship with existing clients, consultants, as well as internal clients that include BlackRock’s distribution teams and actively contribute to new business development.
  • Content/Marketing Materials Development: Conduct research and develop both high-impact written content and marketing materials that contribute to prospective client development.
  • Due Diligence & Market Intelligence: Assist with comprehensive due diligence undertaken on each potential client opportunity using internal and external sources. Coordinate and oversee the preparation of materials and logistics for meetings with clients and prospects.
  • Investment Insight: Collaborate closely with APS Portfolio Managers to build proficient knowledge and database of solutions on the BlackRock platform and the industry more broadly.
  • Business Management & Support: Contribute to cross-functional projects and business initiatives in close collaboration with senior team members. Help drive project workflows, coordinate across internal teams, and ensure timely delivery of materials and responses.

Required Skills

  • A university degree in economics, finance, business administration, or a related field is required.
  • Excellent communication skills across both verbal and written mediums. Fluency in written and spoken English is crucial.
  • Language skills strongly preferred, specifically German and Italian
  • Strong attention to detail, a sense of urgency around deadlines and an ability to manage multiple objectives simultaneously.
  • Organized and thorough with consistent focus on excellence.
  • Strong team player who takes a collaborative and cooperative approach to tasks, working effectively with multiple partners to deliver on projects on time and to a high standard, but can work independently.

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel and ability to develop familiarity and skills with BlackRock’s proprietary technology.
  • Proactive, problem-solving can do attitude, supported by the ability to effectively combine outputs from different sources of technology/systems.

Industry Knowledge & Interests

  • Keen interest in global financial markets; be up to date on macro events and market trends.
  • Foundational knowledge of private market asset classes, alternative product structuring and implementation approaches
  • A desire to pursue CFA, FRM and/or CAIA is welcome.

Professional Presence

  • Presence and credibility to effectively represent Alternative Portfolio Solutions (APS) internally and externally.
