The Team

Data is core to Preqin’s offerings. The Company Intelligence data team thrives in delivering accurate, timely and complete Company and Deals data to our clients.

Besides collecting content, the Company Intelligence data team collaborates extensively with our internal and external clients to improvise our offerings by bringing to bear technology, AI and domain expertise in our Operations.

Role Overview

This is a leadership role in our Company Intelligence Team in Bengaluru, India. This role will be responsible for aiding in the future growth and the development of the team’s internal and external deliverables, assisting with the ongoing development of the team members, leading internal workstreams and working with Senior Stakeholders.

This is achieved through operational excellence and clear day-to-day maintenance of the dataset & content, including core business-as-usual tasks, going above and beyond to collaborate, innovate and execute relevant ad-hoc projects to improve the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of data.

The individual is also responsible for people management to create a high-performing team and to develop leaders. Collaboration with the Product and Technology teams will be key to achieving and exceeding the objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the data collected by the team is of high quality, meets client expectations and is world class in terms of its breadth and depth
  • Managing day to day data operations with an aim to create and further operational excellence
  • Creating business optimization opportunities through understanding data workflows and bettering the same
  • Lead the day-to-day development of the team, ensuring that training is well-executed, protocols are followed, and the team remains engaged and motivated
  • Drive data quality (DQ) remediation initiatives by conducting root cause analysis, timely feedback and impact assessment of changes when there are data quality problems
  • Troubleshoot advanced data quality incidents, collaborating with regional collaborators and/or global BUs as needed and represent and own data to our clients.
  • Leverage AI to deliver the process simplification.
  • Create and implement data driven innovation (adhoc projects) of products and processes
  • Collaborate across department levels to identify further opportunities to improve data services
  • Demonstrate authority for the dataset and support internal and external collaborators
  • Hiring and performance management of the team.
  • Uphold and encourage adoption of Company values and policies

Key Requirements

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in data or financial data services
  • Demonstrated ability to acquire domain knowledge relevant to data and financial markets
  • Minimum experience of 2 to 3 years in leading leaders and managing large operations
  • Understanding the data lifecycle management from acquisition to data publishing
  • Proven track record in performance management and team leadership
  • Strong operational management ensuring productivity and quality standards
  • Project management of data initiatives aligned to business strategy
  • Strong communication skills highlighting risks and dependencies
  • Business fluency in English
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of BI systems such as Power BI and Power Tools

Desired Experience

  • Experience in leading mid-to-large teams
  • Experience working with Engineering teams to improve workflows
  • Experience in alternative assets or financial services data management
  • Project management certification or SQL/Python knowledge is a plus
  • Knowledge of Emerging AI tools in Data and Workflow management
  • Understanding of Generative AI tools like Copilot, ChatGPT etc.,
  • Experience in Process Re-Engineering and Process simplification.
  • Financial services data management
  • Experience with workflow tools such as Salesforce, Jira, Office 365
