Job description

About this role

Your Team

Digital Solutions is responsible for the strategy, governance, enablement, and operational management of the firm's enterprise collaboration and content-management technologies. Collaboration Solutions manages the platforms that help employees create, manage, share, discover, and collaborate on information securely. The portfolio includes Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Loop, Microsoft Power Platform, Box, NetDocuments, Atlassian Confluence, Diligent Boards, and other enterprise SaaS applications.

The Product Specialist / Platform Engineer will join a global team of SaaS application owners that works with Engineering, Operations, Information Security, Cyber Diligence, Identity and Access Management, Compliance, Records Management, Legal, Enterprise Architecture, Service Management, Sourcing, vendors, and business stakeholders. Confluence is accessible firmwide, with the Aladdin organization serving as its primary business user community.

Your Role and Impact

As Product Specialist / Platform Engineer for Atlassian Confluence Cloud, you will combine product ownership with hands-on platform engineering. You will translate stakeholder and operational requirements into secure, supportable platform solutions while directly configuring, administering, testing, and troubleshooting the service. Valiantys is managing the migration from Confluence Data Center to Confluence Cloud; you will partner through knowledge transfer, validation, stabilization, and the transition to Digital Workplace ownership.

ROLE BOUNDARY  This is not a coordination-only Product Specialist role and not a narrowly scoped engineering role. The individual helps drive the connection between stakeholder needs and hands-on platform execution, including requirements, backlog, configuration, administration, testing, troubleshooting, Marketplace apps, governance, and operational readiness.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is an enterprise Confluence Cloud SME who is equally comfortable leading product conversations and working directly in the administrative console. This person understands permissions, groups, identity integrations, Marketplace apps, tenant configuration, migration validation, troubleshooting, support readiness, and governance. They can move from a stakeholder requirement to a practical configuration, document the decision, test the outcome, and support the service in production.

Key Responsibilities

Product and Service Ownership

·   Serve as the Digital Workplace Product Specialist and technical SME for Atlassian Confluence Cloud.

·   Gather business, user, support, and control requirements and translate them into prioritized platform solutions.

·   Manage backlog priorities, enhancement requests, risks, dependencies, roadmap inputs, and vendor follow-ups.

·   Partner with Aladdin stakeholders and other firmwide users to improve usability, supportability, governance, and service value.

·   Collaborate with internal teams to define Day 2 operating processes, service measures, ownership boundaries, and continuous-improvement priorities.

Platform Engineering and Configuration

·   Configure and administer Confluence Cloud spaces, permissions, groups, roles, workflows, security settings, and tenant-level controls.

·   Own hands-on configuration across Atlassian Administration, Confluence Cloud, Atlassian Guard, SSO, SAML, SCIM, and Microsoft Entra ID integrations.

·   Evaluate, configure, administer, upgrade, and troubleshoot Atlassian Marketplace apps and third-party integrations.

·   Perform root-cause analysis, testing, remediation, and vendor escalation for platform, access, integration, and configuration issues.

·   Maintain technical standards, configuration baselines, runbooks, support procedures, knowledge articles, and operational evidence.

Cloud Migration and Operational Transition

·   Partner with Valiantys and the migration team on knowledge transfer, technical validation, user acceptance testing, cutover readiness, and handoff.

·   Validate migrated spaces, permissions, groups, apps, integrations, administrative settings, and expected user experiences.

·   Support hypercare, issue triage, defect prioritization, post-migration stabilization, and the transition to steady-state support.

·   Assess differences between Confluence Data Center and Confluence Cloud and translate them into configuration, support, and governance requirements.

·   Capture decisions, known issues, exception processes, dependencies, and operational knowledge needed for sustainable Day 2 ownership.

Governance, Security, and Support Readiness

·   Design and maintain scalable permission, administrative access, group-management, and role-based access models.

·   Partner with AIM and identity teams on provisioning, deprovisioning, privileged access, recertification, and ServiceNow request processes.

·   Support Marketplace app inventory, licensing, data-access analysis, security review, ownership, and lifecycle governance.

·   Coordinate audit logging, monitoring, change control, control evidence, risk remediation, and compliance activities.

·   Prepare Service Desk and specialized support teams with knowledge articles, escalation paths, known-issue guidance, and support-transition materials.

Product Leadership and Continuous Improvement

·   Use incidents, support trends, stakeholder feedback, platform analytics, and vendor roadmaps to identify improvement opportunities.

·   Recommend practical solutions that balance user value, configuration complexity, security, supportability, cost, and risk.

·   Coordinate Atlassian and partner engagements, track commitments, and ensure technical and operational follow-through.

·   Provide concise status, risk, decision, and roadmap updates to the Product Owner and portfolio leadership.

·   Test new features and configuration changes before broad implementation and document support and governance impacts.

Cross-Functional Partnership

·   Work closely with Product Owners, SaaS application owners, Engineering, Aladdin stakeholders, Information Security, AIM, Cyber Diligence, Service Management, and support teams.

·   Facilitate technical and product discussions and reconcile competing user, engineering, governance, and operational requirements.

·   Represent Digital Workplace in migration, readiness, architecture, security, vendor, and post-implementation reviews.

·   Communicate clearly with business users, administrators, engineers, vendors, control partners, and senior stakeholders.

·   Act as the accountable technical partner for Confluence configuration, operational health, and continuous service improvement.

Required Qualifications

·   Five or more years of enterprise Confluence administration, platform engineering, or comparable SaaS application ownership experience.

·   Deep hands-on Confluence Cloud configuration experience across spaces, permissions, groups, roles, administrative settings, and troubleshooting.

·   Experience translating business and operational requirements into technical designs, platform configurations, testing approaches, and durable processes.

·   Hands-on experience evaluating, implementing, administering, upgrading, and troubleshooting Atlassian Marketplace apps and integrations.

·   Experience supporting Confluence Cloud migrations, including validation, testing, cutover, knowledge transfer, hypercare, or post-migration stabilization.

·   Working knowledge of identity and access management, SSO, SAML, SCIM, Microsoft Entra ID, and group-based access controls.

·   Experience diagnosing platform issues, performing root-cause analysis, and coordinating escalations with Atlassian and third-party vendors.

·   Strong documentation, analytical, communication, prioritization, and cross-functional stakeholder-management skills.

·   Ability to work independently across global product, engineering, security, support, vendor, and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications

·   Enterprise migration experience from Confluence Data Center or Server to Confluence Cloud.

·   Experience with permission and group mapping, space remediation, Marketplace app compatibility assessments, UAT, hypercare, and steady-state transition.

·   Experience assessing Marketplace app licensing, security, data access, governance, technical dependencies, and long-term support requirements.

·   Familiarity with Atlassian Administration, Atlassian Guard, Jira, Microsoft Entra ID, ServiceNow, Splunk, and enterprise access-governance processes.

·   Experience supporting global collaboration platforms in financial services or another regulated environment; Atlassian certification is a plus.

What Success Looks Like in the First 12 Months

·   Digital Workplace has a recognized Confluence Cloud product specialist and hands-on platform engineering SME.

·   Migration knowledge, technical configuration, known issues, and support responsibilities transfer effectively from Valiantys and the migration team.

·   Spaces, permissions, groups, administrative roles, Marketplace apps, and integrations are documented and managed through clear standards.

·   A sustainable Day 2 model is operating with defined support routes, escalation paths, runbooks, controls, measures, and ownership.

·   Platform issues are resolved efficiently, recurring problems become durable improvements, and stakeholder needs are translated into prioritized, secure, supportable solutions.

Core Behaviors

·   Customer and outcome focus: Start with the user or service problem and define the expected value and operational outcome.

·   Engineering ownership: Validate configurations directly, investigate problems thoroughly, and leave the platform more supportable than you found it.

·   Enterprise judgment: Balance speed, usability, security, governance, supportability, cost, and risk.

·   Ownership and follow-through: Make owners, dates, evidence, decisions, dependencies, and next steps explicit.

·   Clarity and collaboration: Translate technical complexity into concise guidance and build trust across product, engineering, control, support, vendor, and business teams.

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS  Valiantys is managing the migration. Digital Workplace needs enduring in-house ownership after handoff. This role provides configuration depth, Marketplace app expertise, governance judgment, and operational accountability to run Confluence Cloud as a firmwide service.
