Director – Private Data Services (Valuations and QFS)

About this role

The eFront Insight business, a part of Aladdin, is a fast growing part of BlackRock’s Private Markets technology strategy, focused on building a best-in-class Private Markets Data and Analytical platform.  The Insight business is a Front Office platform for Alternative Investment professionals, creating an ecosystem connecting Limited Partners (Asset Owners / Fund of Funds), General Partners (Asset Managers), and Asset Servicers.

The Private Data Services (PDS) team is the backbone of this business, providing world-class expertise in the collection and validation of investment data for investors in alternative assets.

The Aladdin Business is comprised of 1,200+ professionals responsible for implementing and supporting our Aladdin clients, sales and marketing, and ensuring the Aladdin Community maximizes Aladdin products through engagement and education.

About the role

We are seeking an individual with exceptionally strong leadership, people and team management skills. This individual should have a strong background in operational processes, exposure to valuations, business process optimization and financial services. This individual will lead efforts around data processing, valuation adjustments and providing high quality service to our clients, leveraging technology and automation to drive scale, alongside disciplined Operations best practices.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the team responsible for fair value adjustments of underlying portfolio companies. This includes leading client conversations, task planning and coordinating key deliverables surrounding management of daily, monthly and quarterly delivery and monitoring process of fund investments
• Lead a team focused on managed data service to 150+ clients, on time and with quality
• Driving adoption of Innovative technologies
• Spearheading process improvement framework towards future state of Quarterly Fund Service Managed data service
• Create an inclusive environment oriented around trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort
• A Leader who grows the next set of Leaders in the business, and ability to become a BlackRock Global Citizen

Experience required

• University degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
• CA, CPA, CFA, CAIA, ACCA, or other accounting/ finance certification(s) strongly preferred

• 12+ years of relevant experience in the financial industry with good understanding of different types of financial instruments and valuation concepts.
• Ability to work with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment and multi-cultural environment to achieve clear goals within a short timeframe
• Strong analytical, organizational and project management skills. Experience in coaching and leading a team
• Excellent communication skills:  Fluency in English, both written and verbal
