About this role

Role Brief:

BlackRock Aladdin Data is entrusted with maintaining all data integral to the investment decision process for BlackRock the house and our Aladdin® and eFront® platforms. Data is at the heart of Aladdin and increasingly the ability to consume, store, analyze and gain insight from data has become a key component of our competitive advantage.

The Private Markets Data Governance and Master Data Management team, a part of our Private Data Services (PDS) organization, is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and reliability of private markets data for the Aladdin and eFront communities. We partner with product and engineering teams to deliver world-class service to Limited Partners and internal users. Our team is known for being passionate about data, solving complex problems, and constantly innovating to deliver better solutions for our clients.

We are currently seeking a Data Quality & Governance lead to join the team. In this role, you will be the driving force for ensuring the data on our platform is trustworthy, reliable, organized and well-managed. You will work across the organization to improve data accuracy and completeness and expand our capabilities across all services we offer. You will be an ambassador for data, collaborating with client teams (to ensure we are meeting client needs) and operations leads (to scale our business without sacrificing data quality).

What you’ll be doing:

  • Set the policies and standards for data collected by the PDS operations teams, including maintenance of our data dictionaries and methodologies for data collection.

  • Ensure data collected by the team is of the highest quality and that we can accurately and consistently measure the quality of the data on the platform.

  • Help grow and expand the team – both by extending governance across all services and building the team in the region.

  • Implement practices to improve quality measurement and client feedback processes.

  • Work with the heads of our data services on training and operator feedback to ensure quality and consistency.

  • Collaborate with product, and engineering teams to enhance the data collection toolset to ensure high-quality data at point of capture.

  • Identify areas for improvement and lead the initiatives required to transform and implement those improvements

What you need:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and proficiency in English for business purposes.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experienceleading and managing a team, coupledwith 10+ yearsoverallexperience in data management and governance.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence all levels across the organization.

Good to have:

  • Experience in the alternative assets industry or financial services data management

  • Advanced user of MS Office (especiallyadvanced Excel functions, e.g. V-lookups, Macros);

  • Familiarity with SQL, Python, PowerBI, or other tools for data manipulation.
