Associate, Technical Support Engineer

About this role

We are looking for a technical support engineer to join the Production Engineering team, working within the Aladdin Platform Group. A person who has a passion for technical solving, learning new technology tools, and improving new procedures & processes.

This role involves identifying trends and being a problem solver with a proven curiosity about quickly learning new technologies and proprietary systems. You will be a technical product expert during customer implementation projects, prioritizing and implementing the system deployment plans while automating software integration and developing reports in compliance with applicable project requirements.

About the role:

• Build, update, and maintain tooling to deploy, upgrade, monitor, and maintain infrastructure hosted in AWS and Azure.

• Designing, implementing, and working with automated solutions for cloud-based infrastructure.

• Developing or modifying scripts, and code to automate tasks and meet business requirements.

• Contribute to a library of software that enables the smooth operation of BlackRock products.

• Help to suggest and design both short-term and long-term engineering solutions to improve existing operational workflows.

• Build relationships with partners to understand their roles and requirements and connect with them on progress, challenges, and questions.

• Ensure resilience and stability through quality code reviews, unit and regression testing, and level-two production support for owned tools.

• Collaborate with team members in a multi-office, multi-time zone environment.

About you:

• A degree specializing in Computer Science, Technology, MIS, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or similar.

• 1 - 2 years of proven experience in an engineering role.

• Experience in a scripting language such as Python or PowerShell, including respective testing modules.

• Exposure to and understanding of cloud ecosystems such as AWS or Azure, including knowledge of their respective APIs for provisioning and supervising particularly Terraform.

• Understanding of Agile work environments, Azure DevOps, GIT, and CI/CD.

• Experience with Windows Server environments.

• Experience solving clients' technical issues, and experience working with engineering teams, sales, professional services, and customers.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Ability to work with teams across geography.

• Create and deliver standard process recommendations, and documentation for internal wiki pages, and presentations.

Good to have:

Experience with Linux server environments. Experience with Kubernetes environments. Previous experience working in the Financial Services or Technology industry.
