Veteran Transition Program-Financial Planning and Analysis

The Veterans Transition Program is designed to support veterans in making the transition from military life to the civilian workforce. The Program offers participants the opportunity to work at the world’s largest asset manager for six months. On completion of the Program, successful participants will be offered permanent employment at BlackRock.
Over the course of the Program, participants will:

- Immerse themselves in the work of their teams;

- Be supported through training and mentorship;
- Get exposure to senior leaders;

Program Structure:
The program begins with an orientation where you’ll learn about BlackRock’s principles, mission, purpose, and culture. You’ll learn about the asset management industry and get an in-depth look at how BlackRock serves its clients. Following orientation, you’ll join your team and gain insights into the day-to-day life of an Associate as you develop subject-matter expertise through on-the-job learning and our industry-leading technology, Aladdin.
Finance & Strategy Overview
Finance & Strategy (F&S) serves as a trusted, world-class global finance partner to BlackRock, delivering timely, accurate, and insightful financial information and analysis. As a key driver of business growth, F&S offers strategic thought leadership across the firm, playing a vital role in informed decision-making and enhancing organizational efficiency.
The Finance Platform Strategies (FPS) team is responsible for optimizing Finance’s operating models and ensuring consistency across functional teams. We connect key Finance resources with relevant functional specialists across BlackRock, define business requirements, implement scalable platforms, and maintain efficient, well-controlled processes. Acting as internal change management consultants, we leverage the firm’s people, processes, and technologies to bring strategic initiatives to life and enhance ongoing operations.
With a global footprint, FPS leads and manages initiatives aligned with Finance’s priorities – ranging from regional improvements to global transformations. Our responsibilities span project planning and execution: coordinating cross-functional teams, drafting business and technical requirements, designing workflows, managing vendor or internal development, overseeing testing, and delivering end-to-end solutions. We also support training, stakeholder communication, and adoption to ensure project success.
In addition to project delivery, FPS ensures the continued effectiveness of Finance’s day-to-day technologies and processes. We provide first-line support and proactively resolve issues across key systems, including Oracle Cloud SaaS, FCCS, IBM Cognos Planning Analytics (TM1), Cognos Analytics (BI), and BlackRock’s proprietary Aladdin platform – ensuring sustainable operations and a strong control environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Development and Maintenance: Develop and maintain TM1 models and applications, including budgeting, forecasting, and actual reports. Provide ongoing maintenance and enhancements to existing models.
- Data Processing: Manage daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly data processing to support actuals and forecast/budget close processes for the TM1 platform.
- Requirements Gathering: Lead the development and enhancement work for various TM1 models throughout all phases, from requirements gathering to build, user testing, go-live, and support.
- Cloud Migration: Play an active role in cloud migration and model transformation initiatives.
- Report Conversion: Lead report conversion from TM1 perspectives to Planning Analytics for Excel (PAfE) and Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW).
- User Support: Provide day-to-day user support for the TM1 application, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data and reports.
- Documentation: Create and maintain process documentation to ensure it stays current as the process evolves.

Where will I be based?
This role will be based in our Atlanta Office
Program Eligibility:
- Minimum of 2 years of Active Uniformed service
- <5 years of civilian work experience
- Bachelor’s degree obtained pre- or post-military service
- Open to all U.S. Veterans, regardless of rank or branch of service
- Must be able to commence employment in October 2025
