Business Unit Overview
The Institutional Client Business (ICB) develops and maintains relationships with institutional investors including pension funds, insurance companies, industry consultants and family offices. ICB’s product proposition comprises a broad range of both actively managed and index segregated and pooled investments including ETFs, in traditional and alternative (private markets) investment products, and services such as fiduciary management.
The Dutch Institutional Client Business team is responsible formaintaining and expanding the institutional book of business in The Netherlands. It works in close partnership with the specialized teams, on products, strategies and topics such as energy transition, and technology (Aladdin). Other valuable stakeholders include Legal and Compliance teams, Reporting and Operational teams, and other expert teams related to eg. Sustainability, LDI and fiduciary management.
Job Purpose/Background
The successful candidate will be responsible for the overarching sales coverage (relationship and client service) for a portfolio of client accounts, in a team approach within the ICB NL team. Experience in sustainability/impact or private markets is preferable. The focus of the role is to proactively initiate, widen and deepen client relationships to become a trusted partner. Specifically, take responsibility to ensure consistent delivery of high quality and seamless service offering. Work in close co-operation with BlackRock’s sustainability, impact and/or Private Markets specialists as well as the various channels in the wider BlackRock organization. The candidate reports to the Head of the Institutional Client Business, The Netherlands.
Key Responsibilities
Client coverage across all relevant BlackRock products and strategies including active, indexed, ETFs and Alternative investment products
Maintain and cultivate our strong teamwork ethic, via intensive dialogue and cooperation with ICB team members, BlackRock’s product specialists and portfolio management departments
Business development: deliver against team sales and revenue targets by generating leads from existing clients and prospects and delivering against opportunities created across the full range of BlackRock's products and services
Ensure familiarity with industry and market developments, notably in the context of private markets, pension reform and sustainability/energy transition
Participate in local business development initiatives, RfPs and new business pitches.
Knowledge/Experience:
Strong track record in asset management
7+ years of relevant experience
Existing client network and familiarity with Dutch institutional investors
A profound understanding of the Dutch Institutional market and regulatory developments, investment industry and competitive landscape
High level of technical, product and market knowledge, preferably VBA/CFA.
Skills/Competencies:
Excellent communication skills, highly articulate and able to tailor communication style to the audience
Proactive, people-oriented team player with good listening and networking skills, an enthusiastic, upbeat communication style and a passion for success
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Native Dutch speaker and fluent in English
The salary range for Netherlands is 105000 - 157500 EUR
Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits.
