Team overview:
The Fixed Income team provides a range of fixed income products that suit different client needs for risk and return. Within Fixed Income, there are two active investment processes: the fundamental business uses fundamental investment styles and strategies to create alpha for clients; and the model-driven business uses advanced quantitative strategies to create alpha for clients.
The Product Strategy team is in charge of developing Fixed Income products for Institutional and Retail clients and presenting these products to internal and external clients such as investment consultants, existing clients and prospects. The team plays a central role in the firm’s thought leadership agenda. A key factor for the success of the Product Strategy team is keeping strong relationships with distribution partners such as iShares and Wealth (iSW), the Institutional Client Business (ICB), and Global Consultant Relations (GCR), who are responsible for managing and growing BlackRock’s client relationships.
Job Purpose/Background:
BlackRock’s Fundamental Euro Fixed income team is looking for an Associate level product strategist based in London. The individual will provide a link between investment teams and all client groups, providing insights on the Fundamental Fixed Income product platform.
The successful candidate will possess strong knowledge of fixed income instruments and markets. They will also have excellent communication skills and the ability to form trusted relationships and work across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Work alongside portfolio managers and other product strategists to help to present the team’s products to external and internal stakeholders.
Partner with sales teams and fixed income product pillars to drive product positioning, strategy and innovation.
Monitor the competitive universe, performing product and competitor analysis for current and planned products.
Support sales and marketing activities including pitch book generation, RFPs, market commentaries.
Complete a wide variety of ad hoc client requests and strive to deliver a superior level of client service.
Work on written investment review and outlook materials and collateral with a strong attention to detail.
Be responsive to client requests and queries, including supporting often very complicated and deep due diligence processes.
Knowledge/Experience Required:
Minimum 3 years relevant financial markets experience
Strong quantitative skills
Fluency in written and spoken English essential
Preference for other European languages to a business standard
Strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint essential, with proficiency in programming languages preferred
Aladdin, Bloomberg and other market data systems useful

Disciplined organisation skills and high attention to detail
Strong understanding of the asset management industry and capital markets, particularly in fixed income
Strong knowledge of global economics and markets
