About Fundamental Equities:
Fundamental Equities sits within BlackRock’s Portfolio Management Group (PMG), which encompasses Fundamental and Systematic investing across Fixed Income, Equities and Multi-Asset Strategies.
The Fundamental Equities business is a key division at BlackRock with over $228bn of assets under management, across 70+ strategies and over 240+ investment professionals. The Fundamental Equity teams (FE) use traditional analytics to pick stocks and assemble coherent, deliberate and diversified portfolios. Through cutting edge technology, sophisticated models and embedded research, our investment management approach provides superior performance for our clients and is an important part of the BlackRock brand.
About the Global Emerging Markets Team:
BlackRock’s Global Emerging Markets Team manages over $19 billion in institutional and retail AUM. The team focuses on aligning top-down and bottom-up conviction, through structured macro and deep fundamental analysis. The platform’s product suite covers long-only and absolute return portfolios that invest in public global emerging markets equities, including regionally focused, and country-specific strategies.
The team has an opportunity for a Product Strategist to join the team in India. The candidate will support the marketing, commercialization and client service requirements of strategies run by the Global Emerging Markets Team, and act as their primary liaison with the UK Investment Trust Team.
Key Role Responsibilities:
Develop in-depth knowledge of the emerging markets space and the team’s investment process.
Work closely with Black Rock's UK Investment Trust Team to support the creation, review, and distribution of channel specific presentations and content such as:
Client marketing including broker research report input and media articles, event presentations;
Investor day materials including annual and semi-annual reporting;
Company board-related materials and responses to queries.
Partner with the investment team to draft client communications (performance and market commentaries, internal sales bullets, and annual reports) on strategies managed by the GEM team.
Own the GEM team’s annual content agenda and support the research and creation of fund-agnostic macro materials and strategic white papers to aid investor education on the asset class and platform offerings.
Develop strong working relationships with GEM product strategy, corporate communications, marketing and L&C teams to streamline content publication and distribution across regions.
Support commercial priorities by responding to client and prospect inquiries on the team’s strategies. This includes updating presentations, collating data requests, completing new business RFPs and annual DDQs, and fielding ad hoc questions from internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications/Skills:
1-3 years experience in financial services with a focus on equity markets.
Excellent communication skills across both verbal and written mediums.
Strong project management skills and ability to pay close attention to detail, particularly regarding content editing (a writing sample will be required).
Highly motivated, self-starter with an ability to multi-task and prioritize workflow to meet tight deadlines.
Ability to grasp quantitative concepts and their application to portfolio management.
Problem solving mentality with the willingness to speak up to improve process efficiency across tasks.
Technical Competencies:
Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Word, PowerPoint and Excel and ability to develop familiarity and skills using proprietary technology
Preferred VBA and/or Python experience
Basic familiarity with competitor databases such eVestment, Morningstar, Lipper preferred
