Fundamental Fixed Income, Agency MBS Investments: Developer, Vice President

The BlackRock's Fundamental Fixed Income (FFI) handles more than $1.2 trillion in fixed income assets. The platform offers an array of fixed income products designed to meet specific client risk and return profiles. Incorporating the expertise of BlackRock's sector specialists, each client portfolio is tailored to reflect specific investment guidelines and objectives with respect to interest rate exposure, sector allocation, and credit quality.
 

The FFI Agency MBS investment team runs a data-driven investment process. This role will contribute to the building, maintenance and enhancement of all aspects of the technology and data which powers this investment process. This individual will work side-by-side with the team’s investors to build the data pipelines, reports, interactive tools, workflows, and automated processes to empower the team to achieve its investment objectives. In particular:

• A solid understanding of fixed income markets, securities, and data. In particular, understanding the pricing, risk analytics, and returns of bonds is critical.
• This role also requires a high degree of knowledge specific to Agency MBS: Mortgage bond cashflows and TBA market mechanics; Agency Mortgage Prepayment Models; Thorough understanding of mortgage risk analytics, including OAS and other related metrics; MBS Index construction and pricing dynamics
• The ability to translate business problems into solutions quickly and then iterate on those solutions with team members in a tight feedback loop. 
• Being forward-thinking regarding changing priorities driven by rapid changes in markets and investment opportunities. This often means managing multiple projects at one time.
• This role requires strong hands-on software development skills. The candidate should be proficient in Python and have comfort with code-sharing software (Git, Azure etc..). Candidate should have deep experience working with large data sets.
• The candidate should be equally comfortable pursuing projects on their own as they are working alongside other members of the team.
• The role requires exceptional interpersonal skills and an ability to clearly communicate ideas and opinions in a constructive manner.

For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $147,500 – $209,500. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our hybrid work model
