Business Unit Overview:
BlackRock Finance consists of finance professionals in disciplines such as Financial Planning & Analysis (“FP&A”), Treasury, Tax, Financial Controls, Sourcing and Vendor Management, Finance Operations Support and Controllers. Part of the Controllers group, Accounts Payable is a global team with presence in Gurgaon, Singapore, Edinburgh, Belgrade, Atlanta and Budapest.
Job Purpose/Background:
The AP Team is responsible for developing the infrastructure that allows for employee compliance and management oversight of the firm’s Global Cash Disbursement policy. This includes:

Acquiring and maintaining global software to facilitate supplier payments.

Ensuring that all modifications to the Global Cash Disbursement Policy are supported by the oversight infrastructure.

Managing the BlackRock’s Global Cash Disbursement Policy through an automated workflow system with no impact to the credit worthiness of the firm.
Reporting to Accounts Payable Payments Associate, process timely, accurate disbursement of payments to vendors, employees and various third parties while ensuring compliance with BlackRock’s Global Cash Disbursement Policy and regulatory requirement.
Key Responsibilities:

To ensure accurate disbursement of funds – supporting the payment run processes end to end.

Action payment returns daily and ensure that return log is kept up to date.

Partner with Management and Technology team to reduce manual processes.

Handling queries or escalations independently and ensures to fix the root cause to avoid similar occurrences from happening in future.

Following up on overpayments and refunds to ensure little/no financial loss to the firm.

To work with stakeholders regarding cash reconciliation issues and close the loop of unknown open cash reconciliation items.

Provide support to the supplier maintenance team for setup related queries.

Accurate and timely input of multicurrency manual payments onto the various banking portals.

Peer check of the payments to ensure correct backup and sign off received as well as correct input onto banking platform in accordance with up-to-date policies and procedures.

Assist team peers on payment input queries.

Liaise with banks on queries resolution.

Ensure daily end-of-day checking of all online banking systems is performed to ensure payments have been released.

Participate in upcoming projects, process improvements and control enhancements.

Ensure good communication and work ethic within the team as well as support provided to team members.

Support management in ad hoc tasks.

This is a globally focused role in a team which is core to the entire Finance process. The role interacts with both Finance and non-Finance teams around the globe.

Knowledge/Experience:
-
1-3 years of experience in Accounts Payable
-
Knowledge of Coupa or Oracle Financials is a plus
-
Experience of working in a global corporate environment (dealing with multiple currencies / legal entities) is desirable
-
Previous experience of working in payment team or banking environment would be an advantage
-
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

Spanish language knowledge is an advantage
