Our Full-Time Analyst Program is a prestigious two-year experience designed to empower and support Analysts in aligning personal passions and strengths with BlackRock’s mission and principles.
The program begins with a holistic orientation. You’ll first dive into our purpose and business strategies, then gain insights into the daily life of a BlackRock Analyst for the team you’re joining.
As an Analyst, you’ll join a cohort of brilliant minds and a firm of smart and ambitious professionals who will challenge you to think critically and push your boundaries. You will have the opportunity to work on interesting projects and collaborate with teams around the globe – driving innovation, shaping the future of our industry, and helping more and more people experience financial well-being.
Throughout the program, you’ll receive ongoing mentorship and support, with the goal of helping you develop both personally and professionally. At BlackRock, we believe that diversity of thought, experiences and backgrounds, in all its forms, helps build stronger and better teams, avoid groupthink and solve tough problems – today and in the future.
Analysts in Australia will have four 6-month rotations to gain a comprehensive overview of our Australian teams across BlackRock Solutions, Sales & Relationship Management and Investments.

Student Placement Program – Shanghai

Our Student Placement Program in Shanghai gives you the opportunity to experience what it’s like to be part of BlackRock. You’ll have real-world responsibility from day one and contribute to our success by helping the firm to meet the evolving needs of our clients. We offer placement positions in our Shanghai office. Students will work on a specific team for 20 hours each week over a period of 6 months.

Undergraduate or master’s students who are keen to commit to a six-month part-time work program in our Shanghai office. Candidates should be fluent in both Mandarin Chinese and English and maintain their student status throughout the program.

BlackRock Singapore is participating in the Polytechnic Talent for Finance Scheme, a talent development initiative supported by the Financial Sector Development Fund in partnership with the International Business Federation (IBF) Singapore. This is a 12-month apprenticeship program based in our Singapore office and apprentices will participate in ongoing training and professional development while experiencing day-to-day life at BlackRock.

- Recent graduates from a local polytechnic – those who have graduated from a polytechnic or completed National Service after graduating from a polytechnic – within 2 years from date of hire

- When do applications open?
Applications for the Full Time Analyst Program and Summer Internship Program will open in:
- June 2024 for Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore and Tokyo
- Applications for the Insight Experience will open in January 2024

- How many applications can I submit?
You can apply to one program (Full-Time Analyst Program or Summer Internship Program) and up to two functions within that program.
- Can I apply to multiple regions?
You can only submit an application to one region (Asia Pacific, Americas or Europe).
- If I would like to be considered for more than one role, do I need to submit separate applications?
While completing your application, you can apply for up to two functions – you don't need to submit a separate application per function.
- What is the recruiting timeline?
We begin reviewing applications following each program’s respective deadline. We only recruit on a rolling basis in Japan. The recruitment process takes place throughout the fall semester, depending on business needs. In some select cases, certain teams may recruit into the following year.
- What’s the difference between the Full-Time Analyst Program and Summer Internship Program?
The Full-Time Analyst Program is a multi-year experiential journey designed to empower and support Analysts in connecting their personal passions and strengths to BlackRock’s mission, principles and purpose. Our Summer Internship Program is an 8-week internship designed to provide you with an exciting, supporting and fun experience that mirrors life as an Analyst at BlackRock.
- If I’m studying overseas, can I apply to the location I’m interested in?
Yes, all students studying overseas who intend to return to their home country are welcome to apply. Depending on business needs, we would also consider international students who require work visa sponsorship for some positions in Asia Pacific. Please note, local language requirement applies in most office locations.
- Do I need to speak the local language if English is not the primary language of the office I apply to?
Candidates are required to speak the local language when applying to positions in Japan, Korea, Mainland China and Taiwan. We also welcome candidates who speak, read and write native Southeast Asian languages (such as Thai, Tagalog, Bahasa, Vietnamese, etc.) to apply to our programs in Singapore.
- If I am an MBA/PhD student and interested in Asia-Pacific opportunities, am I eligible for the Full-Time Analyst Program or Summer Internship Program?
Unfortunately, we do not have a program available for MBA/PhD students in Asia Pacific. We encourage you to consider roles for experienced professionals.

- When do applications open?
- Pre-interview assessment
- What is the pre-interview assessment?
The pre-interview assessment is a short video recording that you must submit as part of the application process. You will receive a link to complete your pre-interview assessment after you submit your online application. After a question is posed, you'll have three minutes to prepare and up to 90 seconds to record your answer. The entire process takes less than 10 minutes. You must complete the pre-interview assessment in a single sitting within five days of submitting your online application.
- How can I complete the pre-interview assessment?
Immediately after you submit your online application, you’ll receive an email with a link to complete this step. You can also access the pre-interview assessment directly from your application portal.
- I never received the link to complete my pre-interview assessment. How do I proceed?
You can also complete your pre-interview assessment through your application portal. Please log into your application portal and click the link that says “Start Assessment,” which will take you to the platform where you can complete your pre-interview assessment.
- If I apply for more than one function, will I be required to complete a pre-interview assessment for each opportunity?
Yes. If you apply to more than one function, you will be required to complete a pre-interview assessment for each.
- Can I retake the pre-interview assessment once I have submitted it?
No. Unfortunately, you cannot retake the pre-interview assessment once submitted.
- What language should I use when completing the pre-interview assessment if I apply for a role in a non-English-speaking country?
You’ll be required to complete the pre-interview assessment in English for all opportunities in Asia Pacific except in Japan. If you apply for an opportunity in Japan, you will be required to complete the pre-interview assessment in both English and Japanese.
- If I don’t complete the pre-interview assessment within the deadline, will BlackRock still consider my application?
Your application is considered incomplete if you don’t submit your pre-interview assessment within the deadline, and your application will automatically be rejected.
- If I don’t complete my pre-interview assessment within the deadline, can I withdraw my application and submit another?
No, if you didn’t complete your pre-interview assessment within the deadline, you can’t reapply. A withdrawn or incomplete application still counts towards your application limit. Please ensure you have the necessary infrastructure (video-enabled device and internet connection) and enough time to complete all steps of the application before applying.
- I’m having technical issues with my pre-interview assessment. Who should I contact?

- Will I receive feedback if my application is unsuccessful?
Candidates will receive a response for all applications submitted. However, BlackRock is unable to provide individual feedback on your application.
- If I withdraw one of my applications, can I reapply or submit a new one?
No, a withdrawn application still counts towards your application limit. Once you have withdrawn, you cannot reapply.
- Can I reapply next year if my application has been rejected this year?
Yes, we encourage you to reapply next year, provided you still meet the criteria for the program you’re considering.
