[MUSIC PLAYING] CHARU MAKKAR: My name is Charu Makkar. I’m vice president with the firm. I work in BlackRock Data Service. My team provides commercial real estate analytics, does the loan level analysis, and provides the analytics to bondholders, both to the internal constituents within BlackRock and outside to external clients. We work on a commercial tool, which is Sphere.
If you ask every employee within BlackRock, they would probably have a different answer in terms of how you view the culture as. And I think that’s the most intriguing part of it, because it’s hard to define BlackRock culture as “innovation,” or, “it is inclusion and diversity.” BlackRock is like a big tree. It has multiple branches. And all of those branches are equally important, because this trunk is united.
And I think that is what the culture is– that you have multiple things that are going on, but all of them are very core to BlackRock. So I think it’s the emotional ownership that is very important. And that is what BlackRock’s culture is, at least for me personally.
