[MUSIC PLAYING] ALEXIS: I think the culture at BlackRock is really fast-paced. You’re constantly being challenged, and you’re constantly trying to push the envelope.
COLIN: The people I work with are incredibly ambitious. They’re very, very smart. And that certainly keeps me on my toes all of the time.
JESSICA: It’s a team culture. It’s not a competition. So to do well in your role, you don’t need to be the guy that’s sitting next to you. You work together. And you do well together.
SPEAKER: I’ve been in BlackRock for five years now. I really enjoy the people.
ELLADA: We’re a family. We’re truly a family. And being in my team, they created a great atmosphere.
JOHN: We have people from all sorts of backgrounds, all sorts of educational backgrounds, work backgrounds. And I think that’s really powerful to be able to put all of that knowledge, culture, mindset together.
ERIN: We’re constantly looking for opportunities to help our clients. At the end of the day, we’re a fiduciary to our clients. And I think everybody lives that in everything that they do here.
LAUREN: Something that BlackRock does really well is encourage us to be vocal. They’re really passionate about trying to understand what we feel and what we think, no matter what level you’re in.
MATT: The culture it’s very collaborative to allow for that. I think there’s a desire for that. There’s a yearning for that. They want these other voices to be heard.
TYRON: The diverse perspective is a critical path to making good decisions. All these various points of views really allow us to make much better software.
MARK: BlackRock does encourage its employees to volunteer. We have employees in 30 countries. And we need to be local in every country that we serve and make sure that we understand the community.
JOHN: They really want to make people global citizens, people who understand how the world works, and people who want to help.
MELISSA: Working at a founder-led company is really unique. I feel like its core principles are very much still centered around why they founded the firm.
PRANAV: Knowing that you have strong leadership that is so deeply invested in the way this company works gives you the confidence to go about your job knowing that way up things are really strong.
CHARU: It’s very hard to define BlackRock culture as innovation, or it is inclusion and diversity. BlackRock’s like a big tree. It has multiple branches. And all of those branches are equally important because this trunk is united.
TYRON: Coming to BlackRock, I feel that I am making a direct impact. You talk to your end users. They tell you about the impact. They tell you the problem, and they tell you that they enjoy the fact that you’ve solved their problem.
COLIN: BlackRock is one of those companies where if you can make a change here, you can make the change in the entire industry. I think I can do more change here in one year than many people can do in their entire lives.
NEERJA: You can always be the number one, but what do you chase? Do you chase success? Or do you chase excellence? I think BlackRock is that firm that chases excellence and believes that success will come automatically.
