Job description

About this role

The iShares Equity Product Strategy Team within BlackRock’s Global Product Solutions (GPS) business is responsible for driving ETF adoption, product innovation, and commercialization of the iShares UCITS range.  Within the product strategy function, segment specialist teams are the primary commercial axis for the execution of client and commercial strategy, aligning with global client, product, and marketing functions to drive scale.

This team is seeking an Associate / Vice President to help drive the commercialization of the Factors, Income, and Systematic Active ETF segments: a growing and dynamic range that covers numerous funds and approximately $45 billion in assets under management, including single factor, multifactor, factors+ESG, income, and systematic active equity ETFs.

This role will support investment insights, education, analysis, and content creation to aid and expand our distribution efforts, continuing to position us as the market leader and a strong partner to our clients. You will work closely with the firm’s global Systematic Active Equity and Factor-based investment strategies platform, as well as partners across Sales, Marketing, and the overall ETF and GPS business.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Drive distribution initiatives through data analysis and client-ready insights covering factor and income trends, fundamental data, competitor positioning, and ETF industry developments.  The successful candidate should have previous experience in factor or systematic investing, strategic and client-centric mindset, and a desire to be part of a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Knowledge: Develop a strong understanding of the product range, from fund structures, to index methodologies, investment theses and client use cases.
  • Content Production: Oversee the maintenance and updating of existing content pieces and help produce new insights for end-clients.
  • Analysis and Insights: Leveraging external research, market trends, fundamental data and other tools and analytics to develop timely content that supports commercial opportunities.
  • Collaboration: Work efficiently across the equity product strategy team and within a cross-functional team (Product Distribution, Sales, Research, Marketing, Portfolio Management) to drive initiatives and provide product expertise and commercial perspective where required.
  • Engagement: Conceive and activate initiatives with salespeople to target key asset-gathering opportunities, and present to end-clients representing the product segment to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Segment Strategy: Assist in development and execution of a strategy for Factors, Income, and Systematic Active ETFs across product development, sales, marketing, communications, and analytics initiatives.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • 5+ years’ relevant industry experience for Vice President and 3+ for Associate, specifically investment management knowledge and ideally factor investing.
  • Applicable experience with Factor Investing topics (as an investor, research professional or sales) and experience in a client-facing role (investment consulting/sales) preferable.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and communicate technical concepts effectively to a varied audience. Experience in Bloomberg, FactSet advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task, prioritize and collaborate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in a European language preferred, especially German.
  • Ability to travel regionally ~20%.
