Associate, Models Core Portfolio Manager – Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions

What team will you be on?

The Models Core Portfolio Manager role sits within BlackRock’s Multi-Asset Strategies and Solutions (MASS) team, the investment group at the heart of BlackRock's portfolio construction, asset allocation, and active management ecosystem.  We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join as a team member in our growing Budapest office.

Why is your role important?

The global Models business is growing at a rapid pace and is looking to expand even more in the coming years. As the Models Core Portfolio Manager, you will be part of a global team responsible for owning the end-to-end Models lifecycle from business process re-engineering and Aladdin implementation through to generating and distributing trade files to clients. You will be responsible for ensuring Models Trade Files adhere to globally standardized processes while also adhering to local regulations. You will partner with other investments teams in region and globally to standardize and automate processes, creating scale and mitigating risks from onboarding all the way through to distribution to clients.

We are looking for candidates with a proven history of working both independently and as part of a team in a highly collaborative environment. In addition to having a passion for markets and investing, a successful candidate will bring technology skills and problem-solving skills to help develop and drive efficiencies and automation, while providing fresh perspectives on ways to increase scale across a dynamic and multi-faceted business.  Additionally, you will need exceptional communication skills and the ability to form positive relationships and work across the organization and across different regions.

What will you be doing?

• Partner with BlackRock investment teams and be responsible for Models Trade Files delivery and Models portfolio servicing

• Ongoing review and approval of Models Trade Files and other Models reporting

• Manage global processes while coordinating with regional Core Portfolio Manager and Client teams

• Work with Relationship Managers to understand distinct client needs

• Help to perform quarterly process reviews

• Work with Sales on any client questions / updates related to Models reporting

• Oversight of production process during rebalance

• Track and facilitate onboarding of new clients and models onto reporting solution

• Evolve production processes to benefit from latest tech developments and drive automation of trade file checks

• Become knowledgeable in systems used in order to drive increased use of technology and analytical tools to improve scale, streamline reporting, and enhance controls

• Inventory all client deliverables for models

What are we looking for?

• Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of and keen interest in the financial markets, ideally as well as significant understanding of the separate account and model management process, mutual funds and ETFs

• Technical, problem solving, and analytical skills are essential. Organized and detailed oriented with the ability to multi-task and adapt in a fast-paced environment

• Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Business, Finance or equivalent demonstrated professional experience

• Problem solving ability to think logically and deconstruct a larger problem into sub-components and prioritize

• Process/project management: effective project management capabilities with the ability to set guidance, delegate, manage to deadlines, solve problems, and navigate trade-offs

• Positive attitude: team player with high level of motivation and inquisitiveness, comfort with ambiguity and the ability to function well under stress or time pressure

• Independent: high level of self-motivation, able to own and drive multiple assignments at once and willing to respectfully debate the status quo

• Intellectual curiosity: interested in the industry and looking to learn more about asset management, investment vehicles, and scale across BlackRock

• Good judgment: ability to take prudent risks acting always as a fiduciary for our clients and our firm

• Demonstrated record of flexibility, responsiveness, and self-starting personality with a proven track record to innovate

Our hybrid work model

BlackRock’s current hybrid work model is designed to enable in-person connections and collaboration that is core to our culture, while supporting increased flexibility for all employees.
