Role Description
We are seeking a Vice President to join our Aperio COO Team. The candidate will be responsible for initiatives and processes associated with managing people, risk, and vendors. This individual will report to the Aperio COO and lead a team of administrative professionals and working collaboratively across a cross functional team.
Responsibilities
Partner with the leadership and recruiting team on talent, headcount management and tracking to plan.
Oversee people and culture initiatives in partnership with the rest of the Aperio admin team. Plan and execute on Aperio talent integration, team building and training initiatives to build a more inclusive culture e.g. AperioX, Aperio onsites, Aperio PODs, Aperio Academy, etc.
Collaborate with the Aperio admin team and other internal partners to identify and facilitate technology and efficiency enhancements to address the evolving needs of our business e.g. flexible desking, resource scheduling, Hey DAN, etc.
Oversee vendors, including contract renewals and invoicing in partnership with our Sourcing and Vendor Management Team.
Enhance operating and risk control environment and ensure that the guidelines related to operations, sourcing and vendor management, compliance, regulatory and legal obligations are met across all interactions.
Engage with teams across Aperio to gain an understanding of their key processes, risks, controls, and business objectives and represent Aperio on firm risk related activities such as RCSA, internal audit, RQA, etc.
Lead Business Continuity Planning (“BCP”) for the Sausalito office.
Lead discussions around Opportunities for Improvement (“OFIs”) and other operating events.
Ad Hoc support. Contribute when opportunities arise to support the team’s overall business needs.
Requirements
Seven plus years of relevant experience in business management or finance within asset management or broader financial services
Experience leading a small team
Committed to a culture of excellence and a positive, inclusive experience for all
Team player who is inquisitive, comfortable with ambiguity and can manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize information, summarize issues and think creatively
Strong proficiency and demonstrated experience working in all Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Exemplary communication skills (verbal and written)
Superior interpersonal skills; able to communicate and partner at all seniority levels and regions
High degree of professional discretion, integrity, and discernment
BS/BA required
