Senior Product Manager – AML/KYC Due Diligence
New York, US
Business Management & Strategy
About this role
At BlackRock, we are looking for Product Managers who like to innovate and solve complex problems. We recognize that strength comes from diversity, and will embrace your unique skills, curiosity, drive, and passion while giving you the opportunity to grow professionally and as an individual.
With over USD $7 trillion of assets we have an exceptional responsibility: our technology empowers millions of investors to save for retirement, pay for college, buy a home and improve their financial wellbeing.
Being a Product Manager at BlackRock means you get the best of both worlds: working for one of the most advanced financial companies and also being part of a software development team responsible for next generation technology and solutions. Sitting at the intersection of business and technology, Product Managers work closely with developers and other team members to innovate, conceptualize, design and pilot new capabilities to simplify our clients’ business problems.
Your Team
Anti-Money Laundering (AML) / Know Your Customer (KYC) processes are one of the most critical – and closely regulated – steps involved in onboarding a new client. Our team is responsible for building AML/KYC solutions to perform client due diligence and ongoing screenings to ensure compliance with regulations in every jurisdiction that we operate in. This work is essential to BlackRock’s global growth in an evolving regulatory environment, our ability to uncover suspicious financial activity, and mitigate risk for BlackRock while keeping our communities safe.
As a Senior Product Manager, you will play a leadership role in crafting BlackRock’s long-term product strategy and vision for AML/KYC, striving to reduce friction in client onboardings, strengthen our control environment and centralize due diligence activities across the firm. You will be responsible for leading prioritization and execution of the roadmap, while managing dependencies across the onboarding technology ecosystem (including implementation workflow, contract management, and client data and documentation management). You’ll work with a dedicated cross-functional squad that includes engineering, key business stakeholders and other strategic partners. You should have experience influencing and motivating teams without direct control.
Your role and Impact
Define and champion the AML/KYC product strategy, vision, and roadmap. Clearly explain the business value to the engineering and delivery teams so they understand the intent behind the new product or product release.
Define the features and requirements vital to deliver a complete product to market and lead the product team to success. You will be responsible for articulating the ‘what’ and working with engineering to determine the ‘when.’
Articulate complex subject matter in compelling easy-to-understand terms; act as the lead resource for the rest of the organization when product expertise is required.
Be deeply involved in all aspects of the product lifecycle, with a willingness to wear multiple hats, including project management, user experience design, testing, training, and release planning.
Run quantitative and qualitative user research, usability studies, data-driven analysis to inform product direction and deployment strategy.
Stay attuned to industry and technology trends, markets and alternative product offerings and conceptualize impacts to the product offering.
You Have
5+ years of Product Management / Product Ownership, or relevant experience
Expertise as a Product Owner in an Agile environment with track record of delivering comprehensive Epics, Features and User-Stories, as well translating business requirements into technical requirements
Hands-on experience building products for AML/KYC or regulatory compliance within a financial setting
High energy, independent self-starter with ability to lead complex initiatives, drive execution and deliver high quality solutions
Excellent communicator and relationship-builder (i.e. manage end-user, partner and sponsor expectations at all levels both verbally and through professional documentation)
Inclusive and collaborative, with experience working across geographies and time zones
Our benefits
To help you stay energized, engaged and inspired, we offer a wide range of benefits including a strong retirement plan, tuition reimbursement, comprehensive healthcare, support for working parents and Flexible Time Off (FTO) so you can relax, recharge and be there for the people you care about.
