About this role
BlackRock’s Fixed Income team manages more than $1.9 trillion in global fixed income assets across index, active long-only, alternative, and liability driven strategies. The platform offers fixed income investors one of the industry's broadest array of investment choices across model-based and fundamental investment styles. Our Leveraged Finance Portfolio Management Team is searching for a Credit Analyst (Director) based in New York City.
Responsibilities:

Assume industry coverage and utilize that knowledge to diligence opportunities within the High Yield and Leveraged Loan markets and evaluate relative value across capital structures

Work directly with members of the High Yield and Bank Loan portfolio management group within BlackRock’s Leveraged Finance business to underwrite credit risk related to high yield and loan positioning within dedicated Leveraged Finance portfolios and across BlackRock’s Credit platform

Work directly with BlackRock’s Capital Markets group and external business partners on opportunities in new issue high yield bonds and leveraged loans

Oversee and manage junior credit research team members to help mentor, train, and develop new talent

Maintain strong relationships with Product Strategists, Portfolio Managers, Capital Markets, Legal and other groups which support the Leveraged Finance business

Develop thematic materials to share sector-level insights across internal constituencies and in external client communications
Requirements/Skills:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or Mathematics with superior academic record

7+ years of relevant and similar experience working as a research analyst in the High Yield and Leveraged Loan market

Comfort and ability to understand and communicate covenants
-
Strong financial modeling, analytical and communication skills are paramount
-
Proficient in Bloomberg, Excel and PowerPoint
-
Familiarity with Aladdin platform preferred, not required
