About WMC
In August 2020, BlackRock, Temasek and China Construction Bank (CCB) received approval from the China Banking & Insurance Regulatory Commission (CBIRC) to set up a Wealth Management Company (WMC) in Shanghai. BlackRock will hold a 50.1% stake in the joint venture. The WMC will be able to manufacture onshore products for domestic investors.
Business Unit Overview:
We are looking for a dynamic, creative, passionate, and collaborative professional to join our BlackRock CCB Wealth Management Company’s (BLK-CCB WMC) marketing team. This position is based in Shanghai. You will be responsible for building and leading our brand and promoting BLK-CCB WMC wealth management products at different distribution channels in China. The most important distribution channel is China Construction Bank and this individual will need to partner with the BLK-CCB WMC’s client business, and CCB to build marketing strategy, plan, run marketing campaigns, client event, manage digital channel (such as WeChat and our corporate website) and develop digital content to support the brand building and product launch (such as IPO). The successful candidate must be able to form strong cross-functional partnership with key partners, such as client business, compliance, investment, product and regional marketing of BLK.
Overview of Responsibility:

Lead the BLK-CCB WMC marketing practice and is responsible for formulating a holistic marketing strategy to build its brand and grow its wealth management business.

Partner with client business to craft marketing strategy that aligns with the business goals. Drive and deliver marketing initiatives, including co-marketing promotion campaigns for IPOs, client events, content marketing (e.g. WeChat), to increase brand profile and support long-term growth of our business in China

Build and manage the BLK-CCB WMC brand in China, working closely with distribution partners and corporate communications. Develop brand strategy and plan to raise brand awareness, activate brand and build trust among our clients (e.g. relationship managers, CCB’s clients). The strategy will include research, paid media, investor education and product marketing content to be distributed via our own and distributors’ digital platform.

Develop and handle a robust digital content marketing strategy/ ecosystem, run publication process to distribute informative market views and product information to relationship managers and investors via live-streaming, WeChat and website

Drive adoption of “Analytics” through developing marketing campaign measurement metrics that help the business make more data-informed marketing and business decisions. Run the marketing budget for BLK-CCB WMC
Experience/Qualifications/Skills:
-
At least 5-year marketing experience in a financial institution (preferably at a local asset management company or a local bank) and 8 years of overall work experience

Good interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
-
Proficient in written and spoken Mandarin is required. Candidates with proficiency in spoken English preferred.

Strong product/investment knowledge, mainly onshore investment products, and capable to utilize market and/or customer research to develop marketing communication plans

Security or mutual fund related certifications is a plus

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

You should be self-motivated; results driven and have able to establish clear priorities for achieving goals

Ability to work efficiently in a team environment and have a positive work attitude.

Able to operate in a fast-paced environment with flexibility in regard to changes in strategy and project plans

Ability to integrate input from multiple partners while maintaining project schedules and have strong project management skills.

Strong creative skills, including the ability to generate new insights

Minimum Bachelor's degree qualification.
