About this role
Overview of Responsibilities
We are actively searching for an Associate for our APAC Corporate Accounting Team. The candidate will be responsible for performing selected day-to-day responsibilities of the group at BlackRock. Responsibilities include closing of books and reconciliation of certain accounts
The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, highly analytical and pro-active with respect to identifying and implementing process change in order to obtain increased accuracy, improved internal controls and greater efficiencies. Additionally, the candidate should be able to flourish in an extremely fast-paced and growing environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform month-end close activities including revenue & expense accruals, bank reconciliations and intercompany settlement.

Review and analysis of income statement and balance sheet accounts and provide commentary for variance.
-
Maintain fixed assets register and doing depreciation run.
-
Regulatory reporting and completing various statutory audits. Support statutory audits by providing backups and schedules.
-
Review and prepares monthly reconciliations of certain Balance Sheet accounts and substantiation of the balance.
-
Filing of returns and regulatory compliances w.r.t direct and indirect taxation framework in India.

Prepare and record monthly revenue accruals

Liaise with local controllers and operations teams

Maintain client master database and other billing related information on an ongoing basis

Handle client billing and ensure accuracy and timelines

Work on ad-hoc projects
Required Education, Training and Licenses:
-
Chartered Accountant / Graduate or Postgraduate in Finance
-
4-5 years of experience, preferably in financial services
-
High proficiency in Oracle and Microsoft Office applications.
Required experience & skills:

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Positive attitude & willingness to continuously learn.

Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Ability to consistently be attentive to detail while meeting critical deadlines and handling multiple tasks simultaneously.

Strong organizational skills.

Thorough knowledge of internal controls

Ability to work with large volumes of data and maintain high levels of accuracy

Experience in handling a team would be preferred

Strong understanding of accounting principles and ability to guide team members

Ability to assess bottlenecks and implement solutions to help process and team at large

Ability to assess control gaps and implement checks to mitigate risk
