Full-Time Analyst Program

The Full-Time Analyst Program is a two-year experiential journey designed to empower and support Analysts in connecting their personal passions and strengths to BlackRock’s mission, principles and purpose. The program begins with an orientation to learn about our purpose, business and strategic priorities – all while gaining insights into the day-to-day life of an Analyst at BlackRock.
Following orientation, Analysts join their team and stay connected with colleagues across the globe through ongoing training and professional development. This program offers Analysts the chance to have a lasting impact on the firm by contributing to our greater collective purpose to help more and more people experience financial well-being.
Analysts in Australia will have four 6-month rotations to gain a comprehensive overview of our Australian teams across BlackRock Solution, Sales & Relationship Management and Investments.

Undergraduate or master’s students of all academic backgrounds graduating between August 2023 through July 2024.

Student Placement Program – Shanghai

Our Student Placement Program in Shanghai gives you the opportunity to experience what it’s like to be part of BlackRock. You’ll have real-world responsibility from day one and contribute to our success by helping to meet the evolving needs of our clients. You’ll gain and develop new skills as you build the foundation for a successful career here.
We offer placement positions in our Shanghai office. Students will work on a specific team for 20 hours each week over a period of 6 months starting in December or January.
Our Placement Program acts as a feeder to our Full-Time Analyst Program.
Eligibility
Undergraduate or master’s students who are keen to commit to a 6-month part time work program in Shanghai. Candidates should be fluent in both Mandarin Chinese and English and maintain their student status throughout the program.
Apprenticeship Program – Singapore

BlackRock Singapore is participating in the Polytechnic Talent for Finance Scheme, a talent development initiative supported by the Financial Sector Development Fund in partnership with International Business Federation (IBF) Singapore. This is a 12-month apprenticeship program based in our Singapore office and apprentices will participate in ongoing training and professional development whilst experiencing day-to-day life at BlackRock.
Eligibility
- Recent graduates from a local polytechnic – those who have graduated from a polytechnic or completed National Service after graduating from a polytechnic – within 2 years from date of hire.
- Available to work full-time for 12 months starting from September 2023.

General recruiting process
Online Application & Virtual Cover Letter
Enter basic details and upload your resume. For all roles except those in Shanghai, you’ll receive a link from HireVue to complete a short video recording (a virtual cover letter) in which you answer two questions. This must be completed within five calendar days; applications will not be considered if the virtual cover letter is not completed within the deadline.
First-Round Interview
Participate in live video interviews with representatives of the team you applied to. These conversations will be focused on the BlackRock Principles.
Final Assessment
Join an additional virtual interview(s), which may also include a group exercise, presentation or case study.

- How many applications can I submit?
You can apply to one program (Full-Time Analyst Program or Summer Internship Program) and up to three roles within that program.
- Can I apply to multiple regions?
You can only submit an application to one region (Americas, Europe or Asia Pacific).
- If I would like to be considered for more than one role, do I need to submit separate applications?
Yes, you should submit an application for each role you would like to be considered for. Please note, you can apply for up to three roles.
- What is the recruiting timeline?
We begin reviewing applications following each program’s respective deadline. We only recruit on a rolling basis in Japan. The recruitment process takes place throughout the fall semester, depending on business need. In some select cases, certain teams may recruit through the new year.
- What’s the difference between the Full-Time Analyst Program and Summer Internship Program?
The Full-Time Analyst Program is a multi-year experiential journey designed to empower and support Analysts in connecting their personal passions and strengths to BlackRock’s mission, principles and purpose. Our Summer Internship Program is an 8-week internship designed to provide you with an exciting, supporting and fun experience that mirrors life as an Analyst at BlackRock.
- If I’m studying overseas, can I apply to the location I’m interested in?
Yes, all students are welcome to apply.
- Do I need to speak the local language if English is not the primary language of the office I apply to?
Candidates are required to speak the local language when applying to positions in Japan, Korea, Mainland China and Taiwan. We also welcome candidates who speak, read and write native Southeast Asian languages (such as Thai, Tagalog, Bahasa, Vietnamese, etc.) to apply to our programs in Singapore.
- If I am an MBA/PhD student and interested in Asia-Pacific opportunities, am I eligible for the Full-Time Analyst Program or Summer Internship Program?
Unfortunately, we do not have a program available for MBA/PhD students in Asia-Pacific. We encourage you to consider roles for experienced professionals.
- Where do I find the job descriptions?
When you click “Search and Apply,” you will be able to see job descriptions for the various teams and sub-teams.
- When do applications open and when are they due?
- Virtual cover letter
- What is the virtual cover letter?
The virtual cover letter is a short video recording that you must submit as part of the application process (for all teams except Software Engineering). We review this virtual cover letter instead of a written cover letter. Upon accessing the virtual cover letter portal, you will have time to test your system and set-up. When you’re ready, you can start the recording and a pre-selected question will appear on the screen. You’ll then have three minutes to prepare your response, immediately followed by up to 90 seconds to record your answer to the question. A second question will then appear, and you’ll have three minutes to prepare and then up to 90 seconds to respond. The entire process takes less than 10 minutes; however, you must complete both questions in a single sitting within five calendar days of submitting your online application to be considered further.
- How can I complete the virtual cover letter?
Immediately after you submit your online application, you’ll receive an email with a link to complete this step. You can also access the virtual cover letter directly from your application portal.
- I never received the link to complete my virtual cover letter. How do I proceed?
You can also complete your virtual cover letter via your application portal. Please log into your application portal and click the link that says “Start Assessment,” which will take you to our HireVue platform where you can complete your virtual cover letter.
- If I apply for more than one role, will I be required to complete a virtual cover letter for each role?
Yes. If you apply to more than one role, you will be required to complete a virtual cover letter for each role.
- Can I retake the virtual cover letter once I have submitted it?
No. Unfortunately, you cannot retake the virtual cover letter once submitted.
- What language should I use when completing the virtual cover letter if I apply for a role in a non-English speaking country?
You’ll be required to complete the virtual cover letter in English for all positions in Asia-Pacific.
- If I don’t complete the virtual cover letter within the deadline, will BlackRock still consider my application?
Your application is considered incomplete if you don’t submit your cover letter within the deadline, and your application will automatically be rejected.
- If I don’t complete my virtual cover letter within the deadline, can I withdraw my application and submit another?
No, if you didn’t complete your cover letter within the deadline, you can’t reapply. A withdrawn or incomplete application still counts towards your application limit. Please ensure you have the necessary infrastructure (video-enabled device and internet connection) and enough time to complete all steps of the application before submitting your CV.
- I’m having technical issues with my cover letter. Who should I contact?

- If I withdraw one of my applications, can I reapply or submit a new one?
No, a withdrawn application still counts towards your application limit. Once you have withdrawn, you cannot reapply.
- Can I reapply next year if my application has been rejected this year?
Yes, we encourage you to reapply next year, provided you still meet the criteria for the program you’re considering.

This program starts at the beginning of August, with a two-week BlackRock orientation. After the orientation, Analysts join their team and receive business-specific training and professional development throughout the duration of the program.
- When does the Summer Internship Program take place?
This program takes place between June and August of each year for 8 weeks and is a pipeline for our Full-Time Analyst Program the following year.
- When does the Student Placement Program begin?
This program is only available in Shanghai and starts in quarter 1 or 4 of the year. After the placement program, you may be considered for a fast-tracked interview for our Full-Time Analyst Program the following year.
